Okay, this is weird and funny too and I may not be using the right music words but I'll give it a try.
The melody of this song is actually taken from Tchiavoski's(Sp?) 1812 Overture. Take the piano intro and whistle it a little faster and you'll see what I mean. For those not familiar to 1812, look it up on youtube. It's familiar and we've all heard it before even if we aren't fans of classical music.

This song made me cry every Christmas when it was on the radio. It came out at a time when I was still sad my boyfriend broke up with me.

@BrokenneckYgor Yes Dan Fogelberg died of cancer in 2007. 12/16 was a sad day for a true legend. same old lang syne is my favorite love song.
