Cos I think it has the same quality as the action camera (VGA) and I have to say, I was utterly dissapointed with it, sound quality was virtually non-existant and video was dark and not at all good. I was thinking of getting this camera for making movie as my parents camera old and has now lost warranty so they don't want me messing around with it. Look at my videos and can you tell me how good the quality is compared to my movies.
This camera is decent for the price and form factor. It has a tripod mount, operates on 2 AA battries and looks like a toy. If you are only going to do youtube/standard def videos, I think this camera will do well (it has a set resolution of 640x480 at 30fps). You'll probbaly get the same or better quality compared to your videos. The camera does pick up well in darker situations; it does have a white balancing problem when the lighting in a room changes frequently.
For it's size the sound does pick up well in a closed room but has no mic in. Zooming is all digital at 3x (which is not that good). Overall the camera makes very good youtube videos.
