@srercrcr yeah the nerve...lol i grew up knowing every song since about '57, guess i was a lonely kid. i could hear a song for first time in 40 years, and if 2 notes were off i would detect it.....another one of my useless talents
@111sienna You should (OK, PLEASE) check out my channel. I like all decades from 50s to 90s but i favor our base....early 60s. Ask for Steve, I'll come give you a tour!!
I love this original version! I saw the Broadway play Baby It's You last April and the actresses who portrayed the Shirelles did this song, The ladies did an awesome job. The Shirelles who are from my own home town of Passaic, NJ are pioneers of R&B girl group music for sure.
srercrcr , those groups were excellent too but to me the Shirelles were the pioners, it's also a question of taste , i could listen to their hit Dedicated a hundred times over and my wife calls me crazy but to me no other female group brings the memories back like them, ciao
@SuperDino2222 Gosh, I don't think I can go that far. What about the Chantels, the Supremes, the Marvelettes, the Crystals, and those super sexy Ronettes. See what I mean?
I have a recopy like this but a little faster. Here's the catch, the side that has this song on it says Mama Said. I don't know if it's worth anything. It's also very clean.
Oh WOW, this is just as I remembered it. A super song. By the way do you have their song Doing the Ronde? It was i think recorded on Scepter. Song released about 1962. Thanks for a super post.
finally the original version....this is what played on my am radio

Wonderful pre-Motown music - we loved this in Detroit, and the Shirelles!
