  • That 'Go Vespa!' cry at the end of the 1st ad never fails to make my insides tingle with joy

  • Pretty good post...

  • ha ha ha you suck !!!!!!!!!!

  • its a douglas the british sold the design to piagio and started advertising for it

  • Try BAN, MOD GIRLS, fantastic tune and scooters video!

  • is not british made is italy made.

  • go vespa go LOL

  • 125 guineas? Blimey. Strike a light!!!. That was a lotta dough in '62

  • search for 'veteran vespa club' and read the true history of the brit made vespas before you go and say that they were all made in italy as they werent. Douglas were a motorbike company going bust and took on the license for making vespas in the UK. SO, there were UK built vespas. carry on...

  • Italiano vero...ma che bella!

  • vespa is made in italy

  • @helitav and in india!

  • eee, you like the vespa, well if it was not for us Italians! you had not at this time =)

  • Douglas Vespa's were made in bristol in england in their entirety. I know because i had one!! Anyone that thinks they were just assembled here and came in a crate does not have a clue what they are talking about

  • @patramage put on pause this movie @0:56 Are you able to see the symbol "P"??? Well it means Piaggio!!!!

In italian "Vespa" means Wasp..They called it with that name because of the shape and the noisy sound of its engine. "It seems a Wasp", said Enrico Piaggio when he saw the prototype of this bike made by the engineer Corradinio D'Ascanio. Patented on April 23th 1946. This is Italian History. Should i doubt the credentials of your Queen Elizabeth?? Of course no..so pls respect

  • @patramage and By the way..Douglas company had to say thanks to piaggio because in 1948 was bankrupt and the managing director Claude McCormack made some arrangements with Piaggio to build it under licence in Bristol

  • Vespa is the best because Italians are the best

  • Italy built Vespas...From the piaggio's factory in tuscany...the other are only copies!!!!!ant the name "vespa" is an italian word!!!!

  • piaggio opened the factorys in india and spain and piaggio was getting some of the profits the factorys made but the indian factory is still open today because they sell alot of them there and you can pay £1600 for a brand new PX here in England imported from india :D there not as good as the italian vespas tho and the factorys made there scooter a bit different from each other spanish vespas had larger tool boxes then the italian or indian vespas and they sometimes used the same colour wire

  • What the hell kind of an accent is that?

  • vespa is only italian, in england and in other conuntries there are only copy of Vespa...

  • vespas were built in britain,by a company called douglas in bristol,oh yeh and it was the brits that made them cool(the italians just used them for carting stuff around etc),where have nearly all the youth/fashion/music movements always originated in britain, rockers, mods, skinheads, punks, scooterboys, casuals, acid house/club culture etc etc!!!!!

  • but not the biggest :D

    hiphop

  • Douglas was just a company Piaggio in italy shipped vespas to in crates for sale on uk market, Piaggio made its 1st vespa in 1944.The 1st vespa was made when piaggio factory in italy that made aircraft parts for germany during the war was bombed by the raf and Corriando D' Ascanio dsigned a samll scooter for getting around the aircraft factory, after the war he brought it into production and the first vespa came onto the market just after WW2.

  • What the hell kind of an accent is that? I could hardly make out what the announcer was saying in the beginning, i thought it was another language

  • British Army NCO voice at the beiginning- not really any accent more the soundtrack of doom to a national serviceman. "Youh 'orrible liddle man youh!"

  • British made??? as far as i know they've always built'em in Pontedera, Tuscany. it is possible though the Britons assembled (and not 'make') their own.

  • Wrong. Britain and Germany built Vespas -others too from Spain to India licensed production under other names MotoVespa in Spain for example. Many making models unique to those countries.

  • being that they were so popular in Britian, they could have easily has a factory there.. Like Honda having factories in the US..

  • I thought they are Italian... I'd say they're like 30% less cool if brits make 'em.

  • twat

  • lambrettas kick vespas arses !

  • vespas are italian made but they were just for carting wine and chickens.. the brits made them fashionable

  • ah ah ah

  • Huh?!?!? Its Brittish made?!?! Isnt Vespa an Italian scooter?!?! LoL..!! Nice scoot just noticed almost all the ones in this video had spare wheels/tires attached, just odd to see when new ones have none of those conveniences. =)

  • 100 miles per gallon sure sounds nice these days in America! and Wow! i never knew that some old Vespa's came with a spare tire as seen at 1:00 in the video, thats news to me!. =) neat scoot!

  • visto gli italiani che geni eheh!amo la mia vespa special!!!

  • Did I miss something I thought all Vespas were Italian made.

  • yes i was wondering about that too...

    *scratches head*

  • Vespas are the SHIT!!! :D

    I <3 my Vespa!!!! ^^

  • what year was this video from?

  • fuck off who say scooter sucks!

  • and so do you, when you spend time with your dad.

  • la vespa spacca troppo!!!!!!

  • love the 60's models - you can't beat the styling..... the lammys too.

  • 60 years on and still the coolest vehicle ever built vespa till i die

  • Haaaa, I'm "the girl who gets ahead" because I own a Vespa. I had no idea I was so nifty :)

  • had a vespa 90, age 14 1981 only used to posing on crome back rests ...tried riding .... started couln't stop , mate in middle of road it was a quadraphenia moment (post) ha ha

  • Id still like a harley davidson.

Another motorcycle around then was a rudge my dad had one. And a vincent too.

  • My dad used to sell those at Miami honda before he became a insurnance adjuster.

  • my last name is vespa

  • i love vespa, I just bought a gifts for my friends on vespashoppingDOTcom

  • IM IN LOVE

  • it's british made? i thought they were all shipped out of italy or india back in the 50s and 60s.

  • Check your Vespa history. The Douglas Vespa was produced in England and the Bajaj was made in India... They were made in the 50s and 60s... but also in the 70s, 80s, 90s and has never stopped being produced. Just the body style has changed with the times!

  • I feel retarded watching that lot :(

  • Great commercial, I need a vespa for sure now.

  • Este anuncios de Vespa me vuelve moto loco... Bravisimo!!!

  • i have a v50n

  • ive got an 86 model in black. i call it shadowfax. what an awesome bike...a classic.

  • i want one... is it easy to get around on and safe?

  • I just bought a 1980 Vespa P125X and I can tell you that I have the utmost confidence in it. The trick to being safe is really how you ride, what you wear and the size of your bike. Vespa P series are really good first bikes. They go from a 125cc engine to 200ccs.

  • k thanks :D o yea and how much do they cost?

  • It really depends. I payed $1200 for mine but, that was a steal and it doesn't quite run (it will monday). Generally what I've found is that restored a scooter will cost you $3000 which is coincedintally about what new ones cost. But part of scooter culture is the vintage models just like people who are into cars. You can contact me on AIM at ManicPanicWAC

  • Me too- But I prefer my Lambrettas all day every day.

  • grande vespa

  • I did the Harley Road Kings all the Hondas, basically everything there was. The Vespa is totally different. They are fast and goofy fun. I have to say that around town, more fun that my 1200 Sportster, my Electra Glide, my Honda 175 SS and my Honda Aero 1200. They have soul, built in soul, just like a Mosrite guitar.

  • hah aw man i want one!! i want a harley too though and i think that's gonna have to take priority lol

  • MITICA VESPA

  • MITICA VESPA

  • Thanks!

  • BELLISSIMO!!
