No one interprets Liszt like Horowitz. Cut from same cloth as performers. Liszt made women swoon at performances & throw themselves at his feet long before Sinatra, Presley or Tom Jones! He ate it up & his music & performances reflected the intense manliness & yet emotion so attractive openly & confidently displayed. Shows in the Hungarian Rhapsodies more than anywhere else. Horowitz had the same angular attractivness in youth, flash, confidence, & desire to show for female fans! Electric!

In the passage at 6:30, the octave runs are actually done in the right hand! I'm serious!

No, they're alternated between the right and left hand. I don't think even Horowitz could play them that fast if they were only for the right hand!

This is my favorite of Horowitz's Hungarian Rhapsody arrangements! The fast, dance part displays the rhythmic perfection and dark tonalities that are quintessential Horowitz!

A diferencia de otras obras de Liszt todas marcadas por un gran sentido del ritmo y la definicion melodica,esta parece construida a trazos,como hilvanando las ideas que se pierden para retornar en otra modalidad.Eso justamente hae esta variacion-transcripcion rapsodica tan singular gracias al talento de dos musicos distanciados en el tiempo,pero unidos en la inspiracion.
