So, this has been some time later. Was there ever a full investigation. And what about those that played a part in the incident ending up dead from accident within a year later? When that story broke, I was already familiar with Tarpley's idea of 9/11 as a coup against Bush by a rogue faction within the government, and this incident seemed like a perfect match for that modus operandi.
Just on its face, given the extreme precaution that is taken with these weapons, this looks a lot more like a failed rogue operation than a mere accident. Accidents are random and coincidental, whereas in this event, all of the errors went in one direction.

They make this sound as though oversight for such weapons are in the hands of junior airmen who lack discipline. The movement of a nuclear device even from one bunker to another, much less to another state, requires the oversight of at least a field-grade officer. Wow.
