Being descendants of slaves most African Americans have Caucasian genes somewhere down the line...as it was common practice for slave masters to rape their female property. African American people his age experienced harsh open racism first-hand as children...so I would say there is most definitely pain behind his jokes. I just find it funny-and that might also have to do with the fact that the group of people who do fit that stereotype tend to annoy me also.
