i dont understand this gharanebazzi anymore. this feudal thinking has to go. rais khan sahib ko haq hai bolne ka, hame haq hai unki baat nazarandaaz karne ka. ajrada don ustad hashmat khan sahib kamazkam dignified sense me baith rahe hain.

@nehal012 I just wanted to point out that gaiyaki ang has to be an imitation of what vocalists sing and the example of Ustad Shahid Parvez accompanying Ustad Rashid Khan is a practical demonstration. Whatever Ustad Rais Khan is saying about gaiyaki is right there.

Another person wanted a link to a Darbari. That Darbari of Ustad Rais Khan is wonderful- for its technical and emotional content.

@vinaypande I don't know about the mongolian part but he has always maintained he traces his lineage from Surjan Singh. The conversion to islam started from Sahabdad Khan. Actually any Vilayat Khan lineage tree mentions this fact. Also, worth noting is Vilayat khan always talks about Imdadkhani and pretty much never mentions Etawa gharana.
