8 diagrams was straight garbage. So disappointed in the Wu. I think they know too. I went to the Wu-concert in Norva and they didn't perform not one 8D song.
well what the fuck do you guys expect wu-tang to do? they write about the future not the fucking past so if you wanna hear an old ass song write it yourself...peons
The fuck son? YOU ARE CONTRADICTING YOURSELF KID. WU-TANG IS 90'S HIP HOP. The fuck you know about your roots? Go slap yourself B, word is bond, you a dumb motherfucker.
Deck and method shined on this track , But i Think 8 diagrams would have been a better album if RZA had stuck to the plan and had "you can´t stop me now" and "Watch your mouth"
too mainstream... also they took this song out cuz it was too whack. Like this song reminds me of some Gunit shit. That album had like 2 good songs and none of them are classic
Been a Wu fan since 1994 and I think 8 Diagrams is an amazing album. I don't really rate Wu albums above each other, because I like each for what it is and the time it was released, but 8 Diagram's Campfire has turned into one of my favorite Wu songs. I wish it had 5-6 verses on it.
Myself i think the production on the album isn't real wu tang hardcore shit. Way to soft, and waaaaaay to much guests singing on it. The production is good and so, but it doesn't fit a wu-tang album. That's why i don't like it. A couple of songs feel like wu-tang, but most of it doesn't please me. It should have been production like on the new GZA album. Then it would have pleased most of the fans i think.
i agree, i did like the songs campfire and weak spot a ton and i thought the album was good because anything wu tang does is good, but in general it did not have the feel of a wu album this song is way better than anything on the album...rza's gotta get back to the raw 36 chamber, liquid swords, cuban linx beats...wu forever !!!!
8 diagrams is a dope album, higher quality than the vast majority of the shit dropping nowadays, people need to stop expecting a revolutionary 36 chambers everytime they drop something

proud to live in a period of prolific rap! 2007 was one of the best year for new hip hop age. We got so much wonders: HH lives, finding forever, disere, indisputed truth, the cool, american gangster, eardrum, 8diagrams, getback, bayani, graduation, underground kingz (rip), ultimate victory, TI vs TIP, free at last, none shall pass, port of authority, rise up (seph and azeem), BARS, dont quit your day job, jazzmatazvol4 and so much! my only disapoitment : from nothing to something by you know WHO
The sample is not from a Mission Impossible movie just to get things clear. De La Soul has a mixtape called Impossible Mission, that has a song which uses the same sample, and came out before the Wu song.
there was sample clearing issues. Thats why it wasent on the album. Believe it or not, someone found that the sample came from a Mission Impossible track
i really wanna know what makes 8 diagrams so bad that everybodys sayin it sucks?im starting to think its the absence of dirty...he mad more power than alot of people think
same thing that happened to rocky good liven to many drugs got soft and old true warriors stay fit and ready for war u grow stale when theres no growth for what its worth theres my take
As Wu Tang fan since the first album I have to say:
Horrible! It remembered me to 50 Cent. Yeah the rap is still lightyears better but the beat sucked so much compared to the old ones. Also the picture they try to commit doesn't really work anymore. They don't sound rough and hard anymore... They sound fat and well fed.
What the hell happened? Great groups & rappers are like boxers, they only have that small window of time 2 be hot & dope. This is ok for sure, but nothing like the vibes of young new hungry 1990's back in the Wu's prime!
of course nobody can stay in their prime forever. all the greats have fallen off a little wu tang, canibus, chino xl, nas, the lox, mobb deep, m.o.p, snoop etc
I aggre with you, RZA is weaker, if somebody disagree, that must be guy who likes everything what has something with wu tang.. i mean that lyrics are still good but beats are horrible, i give that album 6/10
You never get the same. If You would get the same, You'd say, that they ren out of ideas. People change and so is their music. RZA is better and better, it's just that he's less and less primitive.
all wu tunes take time to work in like a drug. with all those flavours brewing in one pot. end result another wu banger collaborations consortiums all in together now posse crew united we stand divided we fall teamwork
This shit definately grew on me...this shit gutter...real creepy...it's a solid tune...but for some reason...I still feel like it's missing something.
Dope dope dope dope fuckin dope in every way! I love the dark, sinister vibe happening here. The beat is minimal and elegant in a hard ass type way, and the voices all flow in way that creates a long slow wave of tones. Nice.
"Maybe even more importantly, The 8 Diagrams actually sounds like a Wu-Tang album. It's dark and swampy and eerie and gothic and mysterious and heady in a way that, say, Iron Flag wasn't...all the tracks I heard certainly sounded like RZA tracks: creepy minor-key horror-movie strings, broken pianos, shuffling head-crack drum-loops, ghostly vocal samples, chanted choruses, kung-fu movie dialogue, clashing sword sound-effects, the whole thing."
