I loved this game. Simple gameplay, but well executed, and I always wanted to know what the next piece of the story was. The soundtrack was equally impressive. It's not often that I feel a soundtrack perfectly fits a game or movie; I honestly have to say that the soundtrack to Alan Wake was expertly done. Not only were great songs chosen, but they were placed in appropriate parts of the game; in a way which enhanced the experience.

@xgncmx God of War, Metal Gear Solid 4 (yes, this one is worth buying a ps3 for), Uncharted, Ratchet and Clank, Resistance might suit you.. Face it, the PS3 has some kick ass games. In my opinion, the only games I think worth getting a 360 for are Gears of War 2 and 3 and maybe Halo.. Not a fanboy, just stating my mind.

@xgncmx GoW maybe doesn't look different, but you don't fix what isn't broken. It's a thrilling experience from start to finish, it's atmospheric, challenging and looks beautiful. If you haven't, you should definitely play it. I finished it 8 times in a row - it's that good and exciting. MGS hit the sweet spot for me because I like toying in shadows. But definitely play God of War 3. I played the 1, 2 (GoW Collection) and then 3 progressively. All 3 games are easily in the top 10 ever for me.

@xgncmx God of War 2 is a must play, someone surely has a PS2 you can play it on ;) I know how it feels man, I had 2 PS3's and both YLODed, now I'm scraping money to upgrade my computer. I said to myself no more consoles until deep into the next generation, so they iron out all the problems. I'm pretty happy with what I've got so far, but I miss some console games.. God of War, MGS, Red Dead Redemption etc.. I also miss playing splitscreen with someone. Online just can't replace that..

@Jill4ChrisRedfeild BTW the makers of Heavy Rain also made a game called Indigo Prophecy. That game was what gave the makers the idea for Heavy Rain. I would recomend it but it came out long time ago and is on xbox or ps2, but also has amazing story development. :)

I did'nt like alan wake. I would of played it more if I knew this song was in it. This is my favorite song of all time. I think Silent Hill 2 did what alan wake tried to. Then again the failure to scare me or impress me intellectually made me stop playing alan wake. Silent hill 2 symbolic and sad. Alan wake is just sub par. Sorry.

Alan Wake is NOT a horror game, if you would have taken the time to read the FRONT COVER of the game, it clearly states that it is a psychological action thriller- and it definitely thrives above & beyond that statement. Silent hill is on the top list of one of my favorite games, and while playing Alan Wake I definitely felt "some" similarities, but I believe that the game does an exceptional job at creating its OWN atmosphere.

A. When he wrote himself into the story he effectively sacrificed his life for Alice's. Thats the balance that Zane messed up on and allowed the darkness to survive.

or B. Saving Alice meant for him to stay in the cabin which, after a long enough time, the darkness took over him. This is where we see him type how the darkness isn't a lake but an ocean. uh oh

or C. It was all a nightmare. "Wake Up Alan" . . . . if C then GAME FAIL

Besides, the game's storyline wasn't that hard to understand anyway, it was just the ending that left gamer's confused. But that's ok because it's a game that makes you think about the plot. Anyways, the dlc's for Alan Wake should be able to explain the ending. And hopefully Remedy will make a season 2 for Alan Wake if players liked season 1.
