  • One of the best reviews I've seen on any computer... good job!

  • Hey guys ok can somebody answer my questions: Ok so i luv apple i have an ipad iphone, and what not. So i have a small netbook and it crashes so i want a mac. My family already had the desktop an its amazing but i want a laptop. Should I get the Air or the Probook? if the Air(whitch i reallly want) The 13' or te 11' which tends to be faster and better for movie editing, internet, and music? Is the mac Air easily Broken? Thanks guys:)

  • @finalstelth haha gaming ...... what a man

  • Excellent review! Thank you for all the info.

Could I work with Final Cut Pro X on this when I'm away from my 27" iMac?

    Thank you,

    Tim

PS. Better to wait to see what the new ones will be like in 4 to 6 weeks.

  • @chessdude67 It does, but not a great choice for 720p or 1080p video editing.

  • i have owned nothing but PCs and have had nothing but problems. I know many ppl that have Mac in various forms and like apple says "it just works."

  • I'm getting this at noon today!!!!!

  • windows 8!!!!!!!!!!

  • @berrybliss120 haha no. No microsoft. Only apple things.

  • Can't wait till I get it

  • @iDanRigby i hope so

  • im getting one for my birthday :}

  • Would you recommend the 13" or the 11"

  • @jeffchadrick the 13" is somewhat faster. depends on what you're doing/going to do.

  • Dear Santa... Would you be willing to spend $1800 dollars for a Macbook Air that will break very easily? Get it? It's called sarcasm.

  • I want 1

  • Sorry, I'm on my iPod typing, i meant instead of some other computer. So sorry

  • Can someone please tell me, can I upload microsoft office on there, like excel, word, PowerPoint so forth. I would really like the Apple computer instead of some pter, so light and easy to carry around, compatible and has south strength. Please someone tell me.

  • How would this hold up for a semi-pro photog that would use Photoshop CS5?

  • @soccercup8 Not as good as a MacBook Pro, but it gets the job done. I use it for 20MB raw files and it performs pretty well.

  • There is a rumor going around that 13" is slower than the 11". Is that true?

  • @5876mg general speed wise. like opening up programs. but not actually programming like ripping dvd, etc.

  • welcome to i heart gifts page

  • whether at work longer its geting overheats ?

  • Wow, it has i5. My freaking £800 desktop has i5 with 8gb RAM, and it's better then that piece of shit, as I can play GAMES on it.

  • @FinalStealth how big and ugly is ur desktop ?

  • @FinalStealth Yours is a desktop. This is a laptop and is not designed to play games on. Moron

  • @FinalStealth wtf, u sound like someone who hasnt owned anything apple in there life! they do play games, and music, via THE APP STORE!!!!!! duh, everything apple has the app store, except some iPods. so shut up n dont come on these videos if all you have to say is bad things. some people here actually would like to get one of these, and watch this and comment on it for a reason, not to brag that they think their computer is better. Well, im sorry, i reckon urs must be a big piece of junk.

  • @FinalStealth ... not made for gaming. made for REAL use.

  • @lgellett You'll be fine

  • Do you suggest the i7 over the i5 for the extra $100 on the 13" in MacBook Air?

  • @theforensicsexpert The performance difference isn't huge between the ULV Core i5 and i7, so I wouldn't call it a must have upgrade.

  • You Sound Like Michael Jackson.

  • I am looking to buy this netbook for education purposes, social networking, youtubing and Microsoft office. Would this handle these tasks without constant buffering and lag?

  • I'm looking for a computer that will do photo editing, word processing, and some light games; do you think that this computer would be suitable?

  • @FIREandICE94 It would.

  • ok im sorry but most of that i didnt understand im thinking of getting an air but i main issue is i want to use it for gaming and school work i lean towards the air because its super portable and im a very on the go person but for school/gaming i.e. skyrim shool i opt for the pro or stick with the air?

  • @wrathovgodx Skyrim won't run on this.

  • Hey guys i really need help with this major desision which one should i get Air 13 inch or Pro 13 inch...Pros and Cons.

Air=the pros of the air is that 1.the screen is better 2.it is thinner 3.its super light

the cons are 1.it doesnt have many usb ports 2.doesnt have a disc drive 3.its a $100 more and isnt made for gaming (which i will be doing) But very lightly no heavy stuff. So help me out plz tell me what you guys think i should do i think im gonna go for the air but it depends.

  • @xXPiggieExtremeXx if you're gaming why get a Mac?

  • @xXPiggieExtremeXx they both have 2 USB ports.. go for Pro for gaming.

  • @xXPiggieExtremeXx I say the Air because of the small and portability of it. Also, now upgraded, its just as fast/durable

  • how do you play cd's tho?

  • @Drugstorejunkie94 It works with most popular external optical drives.

  • @Drugstorejunkie94 You purchase a separate cd drive.

  • Will it be able to run smoothly AutoCAD in 2D? Im a civil engineer, and thats my only concern.

  • can it run adobe flash on mac os or need it to go to dual os/winxp to run adobe flash on the mac air

  • since this has an ssd, how long do u think it will last me if i bought it?

  • I want one of these because its SO thin! BUT, can it handle very light gaming, photo and video editing?

  • @REINEJAK012 what would light gaming include?

  • @Babeman1 well, id have to run windows on partition ... but likwe zoo tycoon...

  • would you recommend this laptop of a macbook pro for a college student? Besides typing up papers, I wouldn't be doing much but downloading music and just social networking

  • @xiaoOakysan The MacBook Air can handle these tasks just fine.

  • So... no disc drive?

  • @insanitystudio you can but an external one if you want, but that costs roughly £60

  • @furyflare72

hmmm, small potato's XD (as they say)

I think if your willing to dish out that much for the air itself, 60 won't seem like much more :)

  • @insanitystudio you can disc share or get an external cd drive

  • @insanitystudio nope, but when u think about it, u dont really need one! cds are astarting to become "old fashioned:...

  • @REINEJAK012

I guess your kind of right, but much of the hardware I buy (ie: Wacom Tablets, mouses, recording devices) still come with installation and software discs. I realize these can be found online as well, but it's just a lot simpler to be able to throw in a disc and be done with it (in my opinion)

  • HI

  • @VQian1997 No, it doesn't. If you want to dual boot you have to purchase Windows 7.

  • that blue port on the windows laptop that you skipped over is a usb 3.0, wish the MBA had one :(

  • Great review !!!! thank you !!

  • OMG, looks awesome, but what if they are new macbook air design this summer!!

  • Not bad, but the ASUS 13" Zenbook has everything this machine has, plus a higher screen resolution of 1600x900 (as opposed to 1440x900 on the MB Air) and costs $150 bucks less. It's quite obviously the better machine.

  • @MaestroDraven Except that the zenbook has a smaller touchpad, the keyboard isn't as good, the build quality feels a lot cheaper, and it comes with windows instead of OSX, which in addition also doesnt make it that reliable. And as far as i know, it has visible vents, which makes it easy to clog them up. The ones on the MBA is in the hinges, which makes it difficult to do that.

  • @UlikazuResponser

The touchpad might be smaller, but the keyboard and build quality issues are false, and you're making them up out of thin air. The Zenbooks have performed beautifully, and I don't see how visible air vents make a difference, given Mac's tendency to overheat (another reason why Apple chooses inferior hardware components). Dust gets in no matter where you put it.

Oh, and they have 10-12 hour battery lives. Not bad for a Windows machine, compared to 7 hours on the Mac.

  • Awesome~~

  • @MichaelDion8 Mac is the way to go.

  • What to buy????...

    Apple MacBook Air

    Samsung Series 9

    Dell Adamo XPS

    Asus ZenBook

  • Everyone a;ways has macbook pro's why not this one?

  • i just bought this mac but i didn't come with ilife preinstalled?

  • So, if you are thinking which one to buy, go for Air, and if you need more performance, upgrade it.

  • I am a heavy user, I am a software developer, so you can guess how heavy I am using it.

I was also a Macbook Pro user, with 8 GB ram, and bought it last year. It was good and haven't had any problems. I have just bough Macbook air two weeks ago and I am always on it. I have very slight performance issues, in edge cases. And it has many advantages that I wasn't thinking of. Like it is so light that I can work in any position. It made me more productive. I have upgraded it as well though.

  • Should I buy one or wait for the new MacBooks coming out in 2012

  • @nkohli061 Wait if you can. The new ones have a better battery life due to ivy bridge using less battery life. It has better intel graphics ie Intel 4000 graphics. The biggest thing is the new will have usb 3.0 which is nice. I would wait but wait if you can.

  • Love it

  • I have an imac for my recording studio..I purchased it to replace my macbook white 2008 that I was using for my studio..now I'm looking to upgrade (or downgrade as others might see) my macbook white to a macbook air..i wont need to do anything intense with it like my old laptop because thats what I have my imac for, but I was wondering how well videos buffered? Are youtube videos and other bigger video sites smooth? Besides school work...Ill be watching a ton of videos on these.

  • if Apple Releases a 15" Macbook Air im getting one! if not, I'll get this model !

  • IS IT WIERD THAT IM WATCHING THIS FOR THE FIRST TIME ON MY NEW MACBOOK AIR ? XP

  • Guys is it worth it?

  • Hey do you think that macbook air 11 is better than 13???

  • Hun,theres only one generation of macbook airs.

  • Just crap... no i didn't watch this just so i could dislike and make negative comments...

  • Question: I would be able to use a 13" or 11" computer. Do you think the $100 less for the 11" with .1 less GHz is worth it? Also, is it possible to add more memory (RAM) to the Macbook Air?

  • @Plotzeh Not by yourself.

  • @MobileTechReview Yes you can. Its super easy!

  • @Plotzeh go for the 13

  • I have one of these, and the exact same one she's reviewing. I love it. This is the best one I have ever had. I highly recommend this laptop. It does everything flawlessly, and has never got hot on me. This is also my primary laptop. Try it!

  • @Css0999 May I ask what your normal usage is on your mba ?

  • THANK YOU

  • I just bought one for iPhone development. Thanks for the review!

  • I need a MacBook! Thumbs up if you do to!:)

  • i have this im on it right now ! nd im only 13

  • does this get hot or loud?

  • @sk8kid1199 no it doesnt get hot because the hard drive doesnt spin (source of heat for most computers) and it is superquiet :D

  • @sk8kid1199 it does neither! I swear it doesn't make a sound! It's awesome!

  • does it get hot easily like a macbook pro?

  • i love it :) only a month and its a keeper :D

  • For college I'm looking into this or the toshiba portege/qosmio. I don't game, I never have and never will. Which would you recommend for school work? I'm going into creative writing or journalism with physics as a minor.

  • @MichiganTechReviewer Have to say that the Qosmios are better for gaming and video watching. If you only need to do papers and writing, why carry something so heavy?

  • if you're not gaming, i do recommend a macbook. preferably a macbook air

  • @brettles12345 well i dont se how a laptop could be recomended for anything other than facebook.

  • @aleksandersandstrom what do you mean?

you can recommend a laptop for more, than just the use of Facebook

  • @dalsanto01 like what? editing media = desktop, Gaming = desktop, acctual work = desktop (with a laptop if you need it on the go), scripting = desktop. Watching movies/music = laptop, sure i missed movies/music.

  • yeah of course you can, a laptop can be recommended for a whole lot of other things, then just social networking

  • @MichiganTechReviewer ibooks author is free for mac and it works great with an iPad

  • thunderbalt :)

  • @thekorgboy98 best laptop ever

  • Yea yea

  • Four gigs of RAM is perfectly fine for every Mac and PC I've ever used. My old pc had three, and I never got close to using over two...

  • is this good to render/play on or the pro?

  • @iDestructiveCinema In which apps?

  • @MobileTechReview Like im a gamer I use TotalMedia Extreme to record with the HD-PVR and then edit render with the Sony Vegas 10 pro and After Effects

  • if i buy one and restore it will i lose anything or will it be fine ?

  • Going to buy next year already bought a MacBook pro 6 months back

  • no room for dvd's/cd's.?

  • getting one for my lil bro ;)

  • can i have it ?

  • I'm looking for an ultra portable laptop, and my current choices are Macbook Air, Toshiba Z830 and the Asus UX31. Which one would you recommend?

  • Thank you for the review

  • One of the best reviews.

  • I'm a guy, I am a student, which is the best that you can recommend me to buy, i'm really really confuse about these two laptops Mac Air or Macbook Pro, I've heard some issue/s about the AIR due to it's screen resolution that it doesn't look clear and with the PRO no issue/s at all. Hope you can help me thanks :)

  • @ransellsgh What will you do on the laptop?

  • @MobileTechReview I have the same dilemma. I will primarily use it for writing, surfing, skype and video editing(nothing heavy). I'm also going to carry it around a lot(this is why I'm currently looking to get the Air) But does the screen really have that many issues?

  • Comment removed

  • quick question.... how did you open that activity monitor? I'm actually on an old school white MacBook with a core 2 duo, but running Lion flawlessly. Just thought it would be interesting to keep an eye on what's happening! Thanks!

  • @DanielGClapp Go to Applications/Utilities

  • @MobileTechReview Thank you!

  • the macbook air is beautiful

  • i played this video in 1080p cause i can

  • Oh my god, when I heard your voice. It scared me.

I was way off guard to hear a beautiful voice.

  • My IBM 5100 is way better than all.

  • omg! its google translate woman!<3

  • Just get a real laptop... Samsung Series 7 or ASUS UX21

Just better notebooks and better pricing.

  • is this a guy or a girl? At first I thought guy cuz of the voice. but at the end it said "Bye this has been "Lisa" from tech review"

  • Im about to buy Mac Air this thursday ! Is it highly recommended to have anti-virus if so what is the suitable or best one to have ?

  • Can anybody tell me about battery life/performance, plz

  • I wasn't subscribed to this channel what?! I love these videos.

  • @jamiefoth you can download all office programs into the mba in the mac app store

  • I came for the macbook, I stayed for you voice.

  • @TheDeathofGrace Hehehe...Thanks! :) Please share our reviews with friends. Thanks. :)

  • SSD is flash! Do research morons

  • may sound like a stupid question but since I have no experience of apple or ios or macbooks I need to know: If I want microsoft's programs like excel and word, how do I get it? Does it come with it, does it not?? Do you buy it? In that case, does it cost much?

  • @TheApdanne there is a Microsoft office for mac....

  • @TheApdanne Office for Mac should cost the same as Office for Windows...well that was the case for me anyway.

  • Aduhbe flash? Aduhbe?

  • y does lisa's voice turns me on........

  • @RazzleDazzle872 Same here. I'm leaning towards the Air.

  • So i'm going through a hard descision between MBP 13 inch and MBA 13 inch, and all I'm going to do is some photo editing, watch videos, and some casual internet browsing. I go places from time to time, but not ALL the time. Which one would you think would be better? Someone PLEASE respond.

  • @RazzleDazzle872 For the price, the MBP is much more powerful, and has many more features (ie. inputs). If portability is more important to you, then go for the Air, but you'd be sacrificing speed and storage.

  • @RazzleDazzle872

Air for you. Pro is for heavy users.

  • Trying to decide between an air or a pro for college next year, I would like to do some video editing but not much. And I'm also concerned about the small ssd, I store alot of music, video, and other files.

  • every time im typing and i hit space it scrolls the page down i need help

  • @viva7178 she is saying it is a ssd because the flash memory is indeed solid state

  • IT'S NOT A SOLID STATE DRIVE! IS FLASH MEMORY!

  • What this be like for running Final Cut Pro occasionally? I don't whether to get a new iMac or one of these. If I got an Air I wouldn't use my iPad as much.

  • @sparced Get a high end iMac for running Final Cut Pro. :)

  • @MobileTechReview could a macbook pro 15 inch 2.4ghz do the trick?

  • This was the best Macbook Air review i've seen! I got everything I wanted to know...Thanks!

  • It's not a solid state drive, it's flash memory

  • I have a Macbook air and pro.... i do like my air better

  • Man I forgot how skinny the macbook air is!!! and I thought my macbook pro was slim danggg

  • u forgot to compare it with the asus zenbook the lenovo u show has nothing to do with this machine

  • @kurt1504 The Asus ZenBook came out months after we did this review. So we didn't forget, it was not out yet. We do have a review of the ZenBook UX31 on this channel. So check it out.

  • lol ... Your boring!!! xD

  • If you are going to flame a video about features not being bettet please just dont watch and keep to your self -Thank You

  • no optical drive - tht sux. i dnt wana spend 1000+ on worthless thin piece of shit. design is useless until u put the usability in it!!

  • @ramzkhaja Yeah, thats how I first felt about the macbook air but now Im kind of changing my mind cause sooner or later everything is going to be digital, so there is no need for an optical drive.

  • i don't understand geek talk...

  • nice osx lion wallpaper!! where can i get it?! thanks!!

  • @kylefivetwothree Comes with OS X Lion.

  • @kylefivetwothree google it
