  • ok, so after you cover the pot and store in a dark place , do you put water in the pot too? or wait for the next day to put the water in? thank you!

  • @rainachea I dont pour water for the first day. Actually, it is not the big difference if we do or not to pour water for the first day after cover bean with the wet kitchen towel.

  • This worked PERFECTLY! Thank you.

  • The bean that you used was soy right? And where could I find those kind of beans?

  • @Chanel52387 They are the green beans not the soy beans....Soy been we use for Soy Milk...but you may try to grow with soy bean, I think it is similar just a bit bigger size. You can find mung bean in the natural shop or in the asian food shop.

  • Hi!Thanks for sharing:) Just a quick question, about the 1 cup of water, did you put 1 cup a day and just let it set there? Or, pour 1cup of water just for rinsing it? Thank you!

  • @TheSasssyTomato Thank you for the question :) yes, I put 1 cup of water a day. We may take time 3-5 days for growth the Mung bean, its depend on warm or cold weather. The first day you grow you pour 1 cup of water...The second day you have to take old water in the pot out then, pour 1 cup of water....do the same for the next day till it grow enough. Thank you for watching ^^

  • Using paper towels is different than using a jar as I do.

Yours looks more complex but perhaps it is better.

How many layers can I use that way?

Does anyone know why my mung bean sprouts have a long thin tail and taste a little bitter.

  • @bytetek thank you for the comment.

I recommend just for 2 layers because if more than this the first layer will be made very short sprout. but you can try anyway if you have very big and high pot :)

more room (space) in the pot or the jar affect to the tail long, I think you should add beans more that before. And for a little bitter taste may cause not enough water or not dark enough in storage.

  • @bytetek If they are exposed to light they will turn green and that taste bitter in mung sprouts. I have also read they need weight to really get thick.
