I had a Fairey Huntress with 275hp diesel in her in 1991...she flew at 41knots! Loved every minute of owning her. The filming was all done in Scotland and inside Pinewood Studious using wooden mock ups for the fire scenes. Peter Twiss (RIP) can be seen driving the 'chief baddies' boat. I love the way the bullets go round corners!!..
Love this movie and don't know why but I have always liked the look of this boat. Did some research and learned it is a Fairey Huntress. If I ever win the lottery I sure would like to have one of these little boats.
Please note the scene at 2:55....given the position of the man with the machine gun it is impossible for him to penetrate the sides of the fuel drums.
saw that boat last night , it was on the back of a truck heading to Ireland , someone in Colraine owns it , driver told me it was in this Bond movie .
i remembered this ending! the lack of violence for the majority of the movie made all violent scenes awesome, like when all the boats flame up or when bond was on the train. this ending clip just isn't as good without the rest of the ending though :(
Peter Twiss Fairey aviation test pilot was helming one of the baddies boats also Charles Curry former Sailing Olympic medalist was there too ..The good old days when fuel was 'nt £1.25 per litre I do do feel for all you fairey owners with large engines to run
here is a puroposeful mistake in the boat chase i found during the part where bond pushes that guy into the water u will notice that the part is sped up bonds hands move quickly
If you really want a mistake, ask yourself just how those bullets struck the barrels like that. They'd need to be riding alongside Bond to shoot like that, not from behind.
Still, it's such a great scene it doesn't really matter.

@spceman He was hurt, this set actually caught fire and created a massive explosion. There were a lot of injuries but a really good take

And another mistake - Very pistols take one flare at a time and we don't see Bond reloading 'cos there wasn't time. But who really cares?
