So if the float level is too low (mine is right at the bottom of the glass), does that mean it's too rich? I've been getting horrible mpg's (even after adjusting the a/f mixture screw) and was wondering if this is the problem.

Too low means your running lean. Too high is running rich. My old carb suffered from too rich thanks to the old damn float.

@84hachi So I'm running lean, and still getting only 22mpg? lol, my car is all kinds of screwed up.
Hopefully one day I can say screw the stock carb and get a Weber :)

That wouldn't fix the whole problem. You have to bend the float's mounting point a little. Then recheck.
