The bible gives no scripture that uses the word "spank" it calls it beat. This is only found in the old testiment. This same old testiment gives no permission to exchange a "rod" for a belt <switch<paddle or whatever. Nowhere is the butt the proper place to hit them . Nowhere does it say how hard to hit them or how much or how often. This lack of regulation prooves the "beatings were in fact beatings.
