  • Is he pakistani or indian?

  • @Sahowalia he is pakistani.

  • @malik4me he is a pakistani.. and he represents Patiala Gharana of Punjab, India.. its no doubt that best sufi's and qawal's are in pakistan.. i m a big fan of Arif lohar, Fateh ali khans,Ghulam Ali sahab, Junoon..

  • @malik4me So what? Rafi, Mukesh.Talat, is indian, who cares...Music has no boundries narrow minded man..Dont spread hateness and enjoy the music. Zardari,Kiyani and Mushraf is also Pakistani..i wont say much..

  • @RanaQuetta @malik4me was asked a question. And he answered it. Why are you getting so butthurt over that. How the hell is he spreading hatred by mentioning that Ghulam Ali is Pakistani. Anti-Pakistani propaganda is huge on YT.If its a song by an indian artist, all you will see is jai hind...If by a pakistani artist..then we see comments like "music has no country". The likes of Nusrat, Mehdi Hassan etc. go and look at some of their patriotic songs. We can be proud of them as pakistanis

  • @zardarikuttahaihai Its your opinion and i respect that, I have my own opinion...Thats it. I love music and i dont care about boundries.Thats it.

  • @zardarikuttahaihai You are dead wrong. I am neither Pakistani nor Indian and I don't understand a word of this song but I love this master singer called Ghulam Ali. I never heard any true music lover say I love Beethoven because he is German. Get politic out of music please. And by the way Mr. Ghulam Ali spends a lot of time in India. But ignorant prejudism always stands in the way of ART. Nazis were famous for burning books. You should use your brain a little.

  • @greginla Oh shut up you butthurt fool. Cant accept the fact that hes a Pakistani. A great and proud pakistani singer. And aamof, Mozart was AUSTRIAN YOU THICK SHIT...hahahahah. And you say..I should use my brain. SMDH typical sanctimonious, pretentious twit who thinks theyre head and shoulders above the "less cultured" pakistanis. FUCK YOU.

  • @zardarikuttahaihai If you are confused between Beethoven and Mozart it means you are either on drugs or drunk all the time. I am very sorry about you. I really mean it. It shows from your choice of words that you are a disturbed individual who needs urgent medical care. I hope you get it soon so that you can appreciate this great artist Ghulam Ali. And by the way, you do not represent Pakistanis who are a lot more cultured and educated than you are.

  • @Sahowalia

He is pakistani...but most of Pakistani singers now a days sing more In India.

  • He is great Singer..No Doubt...

  • Pakistani :)

  • simply superb by Ghulam Ali and Ghalib also

  • Legends of Ghazals...

  • Sufi Ghulam Mustafa Tabassum translated Ghalib's Persian ghazal into Punjabi so truly that if Ghalib were alive he would have prefered to become a Punjabi poet. Our great ghazal singer Ghulam Ali has sung it so beautifully that it sooth's one's soul.

  • @hamidfchohan Exactly !!! Amazing work. Do you have the link to the original Persian poem by Ghalib ? I dont understand Persian but would love to read it :)

  • @amardeepsidhu My dear, if you are interested to read the Persian poem of Mirza Ghalib you can visit some good library and find out his Persian Dewan and trace the concerned poem. Do tell me if you get it.

  • What can I say about this artist? He is awesome and we are privilieged to have lived in his lifetime and heard his magnificent creations.

This poerty is taken from "KALAM-E-GHALIB" which was translated into Punjabi by great Poet "Sufi Tabbassum" of Pakistan in 1974. Listen carefully GHALIB is also used in last verse of the ghazal.

PLEASE DONT LIE HERE THAT THIS GHAZAL BELONGS TO SOMEONE'S GRANDFATHER.

  • What a majestic and soothing melody....

No words can describe my admiration of Ghulam Ali khan sahib.... A LEGEND of our lifetime... Chand ki taref koi kaisay karay....

  • Wah wah kia baat ha.

  • one of my all time favs, i first heard this on a 45 rpm record in 1973 in quetta in my mess room on a cloudy afternoon.

searched for the complete version on youtube for a long time, and found it today, here it is for your listening and enjoyment.

this is a punjabi translation of a persian poem of mirza ghalib.

if you like such stuff this is one item worth downloading and saving on cd, before someone takes it off youtube.

  • Thanks for sharing

  • wah

  • awesome.....hey checkout Ghulam Ali - Saqi , a journey into 50 years of Ghazal, a taste of Ghulam Ali's Saqi you'll find here on youtube...check it out now!

  • personally i dont like GHALIB

but this translation of SOOFI TABASSUM forced me to do so....

  • some one posted it a punjabi gazal...

    actually it is not....

originally it is written in urdu by MIRZA GHAlib....

amazing thing is that no one had the courage to translate him in punjabi....

but SOOFI TABASSUM did it majestically enhancing the effects better than ghalib(my personal opinion)

the word ghaliba is the translation of ghalib into punjabi.....

    shows the greatness of tabassum....

ofcourse ghulam ali also did full justice to the ghazal

  • Shafqat ,its simple..............that you didnt show when I died, now my grave long for your visit. I hope , I made it clear to you.

  • jay tu mairay janazay te nai aya.........
