Okay, heres the story: The girl is having a nightmare, but it becomes reality, and the people from her nightmares are trying to make her one of them. Her dad goes into the nightmare realm and tries to blend in (he puts on the jacket) to go and get her, but there are too many of them, and he cant get to her in time. By the time he finally tries to save her, shes 'come down with the sickness' and accidently kills him.

There is no nightmare, the father and daughter crash their car in a post apocalyptic abandoned city (car crash in the beginning). Gang kidnaps the little girl and begins to convert her into one of them. The rest of set the father is trying to get his daughter back. He disguises himself as one of them to infiltrate them to get closer to his daughter. Unfortunately she becomes fully converted and when the father finally defeats the "BOSS" she stabs her father, not knowing it was him.

@phantomninja26 wow so deep! i just thought it was an analogy of growing older and being influenced by 'the sickness' in society. @ one point i thought she was raped! and the tearing of her white clothes symbolised loss of innocence. then the ending, i thought it was just symbolic of hurting those closest to you, because the pain of life has blinded us and we become 'sick' ourselves in order to cope - and neglect the help and compassion of our loved ones.

I'm definitely a CC fan, but I think CG got them in terms of difficulty and style. CG was a little off and not all together (isn't that the same thing?) and I think that's why they took second. Still, its better than third or not placing at all. An awesome piece all together. Good job and congrats guys!

@hiphopotamus That's open to interpretation and debate. Crowd reaction gives a lot of points too, and Choreo Cookie's videos had a lot of cheers and applause in the background. All I can say is that Common Ground deserved to be one of the top 3.

@YamazaruEiki i guess CGs storytelling element takes away some crowd points during the performance because a lot of the time people are busy paying attention to the storyline (as i would guess) instead of being hype over a crazy move. i know if i was in the crowd for the "war" one, i'd be tuned into the drama.

@hiphopotamus Remember, it is a DANCE competition. Storytelling along the line is creative and it does show the artistry within it, but you have to remember to not let the story overcome the dancing. When it does, the crowd pays attention to only that( which is all right if you're serving a different purpose). We have to remember though, Vibe is a SKILL competition and creativity plays a small factor here. I'm not saying that CG doesn't have skill, but according to the judges, CC had more.

@YamazaruEiki oh, true. i never thought about it that way. i always thought the performances were judged on the total artistry of choreographed dance - including creativity, theme, cleanliness and skill. i thought that was the reason TM always beat out KM in the vibes a few years back. cause while KM had the cleanliness and skill (and crowd/amazingness/sickness factor like no one else's, i.e. their closers and diversity in style), TM had a theme/storyline in addition to the dancing.

@hiphopotamus Well apparently not anymore. It's turned into such that I've explained before. Remember, they do change their judges. And TM is rather clean. Skill can play to maneuvering too, and TM had that. Most of the time KM stayed stationary in their past performances. Just now when the torch was handed to Shawn did they start focusing a lot more on footwork.

It's just that the people can't put too much into story telling that the viewers start asking "Hey, what happened here and there? What was the story about?" over looking more at the choreography (which is creativity within itself). That's when you go to dangerous waters.
