  • The Lie Lie Lie Lie LIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE part is epic! \m/

  • I don't care for the vocals at all, but the music is alright. :p

  • I Like this, I dont like fightstar, BUT his vocals sound like hes holding back...depressing nearly

Plus i think it must be the tone or something but its too rocky, You couldn't imagine moshing too this version tbh

  • A band that actually throws in a bit of originality? no fucking way!!!!!

  • This is really good actually... Charlie's vocals don't kill it at all you silly trolls.

  • I may be a tad bias here as Fightstar are my favourite band; but come on, I think this is pretty good! They've added their own spin to the song, and the instruments sound AS good if not better than the original. Nice solo from Charlie too, great job lads!

  • i couldnt tell if it was hetfield singing or not. i also think this version rocks a lot more, because its recorded not a long time ago giving it a shit load of better quality. it simply rocks harder!

  • Metallica fans make me laugh. Every hardcore Metallica fan i've known has been a militant, narrow-minded virgin retard. Get over it. If they hadn't killed themselves off with St Anger you'd have more of a right to bitch and whine about other people's music tases. You give Metallica a bad name.

  • @martmaduke I'm a huge metallica fan, and I love a lot of the covers that have been done of their songs. Unfortunately, most people will never be able to love more than just the original =/

  • Why is everyone bitching about the vocals again? These vocals don't even seem so bad, the comments made it sound like he was singing the song in a death metal style...

  • hope my neighbors likes this song.....

  • actually a pretty solid cover. The guy's a good singer it's obviously just not as powerful as Hetfield's original vocals

  • not the best metallica cover but not horrible either

  • charlie was in busted before he went to fightstar

but he's so much better in fightstar can't get enough of the music

  • This is a good cover, but there's only one problem for me. Charlie Simpson's vocals simply aren't aggresive enough. I get that each bands trying to put their own sound to each song but this is a really aggresive song and so the vocals HAVE to be aggresive imo. But this is still a good cover, fa better than mendeed, chimaera and funeral for a friend's covers on this album.

  • Sounds good to me.

  • That smokey voice fits this song fucking perfectly. I'd even say it sounds better than the original.

  • is that the guy from 3 DOORS DOWN singing? Dammit, I wanted to love all these tribute songs but the vocalist sounds like he is board and sad!!!!!! Has he even heard how HETFIELDS vocals were angsty??? Man, vocals make the song just lame as shit!!! SORRY TO THE DUDE THAT WOULDN"T LET ANYONE INSULT THIS BAND, BUT I JUST DID!!! The bands great actually, vocalist needs to go sing sad pop rock songs...

  • @anthonyhope84 dude I don't want to insult you because I love this band, I jsut wanted to inform you how good they are and give you the chance to take a listen: /watch?v=RPwpUIVOBSM. You still sure he should sing some sad pop rock song? Some of their tunes are way heavier than metallica's...

  • mas

  • Perfect Doblebass..better than ulrich

  • I don't see why people keep saying it's terrible. I'm a HUUUGE Metallica fan, and, hell, this is a really good tribute this an awesome band, and awesome song. The style may be different, but, if it was the same exact thing as Metallica, it wouldn't be as special, would it?

  • Wow Vocal!!!!!!!!

  • Lol the beginning; WON,,,TUH!!!

  • wow this is like 2x heavier than the original.....the vocals r ok....but not the best

  • @jeffhardyfan14 How is it heavier? James' voice has so much more "UMFH" to it.

  • this is like the jonas brothers trying hard to be metal....

  • @blase7654321 haha exactly.

  • @blase7654321 you better shut your mouth stupid asshole if you don't have anything smart to say! i love this band and i won't let you insult them!

  • @KillDummies i've got something to say back to you though, but nah, my fingers will just hurt typing on the keyboard........

  • @KillDummies Calm the fuck down, it's just the internet.

  • @blase7654321

    like jonas brothers?

    are you crazy? lol

try listen to busted and listen to grand unification pt. 2 right after

    huge different

  • sloppy sweeping

  • I actually like the vocals. Be glad he's not trying to imitate James, everyone sucks at that.

  • @marioandluigi012345 Except for Matt heafy, who makes a better James Hetfield than Heftield himself

  • even my mom get pissed of this.......GAYYYYYYY VOCALS.....just for this is the worst metallica cover EVER....Cliff must be angry in heaven...

  • instruments ok, vocals sound like a fucking whiny emo bastard

  • vocals are too soft....damn your supposed to be pissed off.

  • hey, random utube comment. what if youtube crashed?

  • @thesmashed

nah man, LESS thrashy, meaning MORE dumb.

  • The vocals are ok, a little bit soft. The band sound really good. 3/5

  • awesome cover wanna see cover of blackened

  • Along with 'Fear of The Dark', this is a deadly cover. However, their 'Breaking The Law' cover is abysmal.

  • Where can you get this CD?

  • I give props to the vocalist (Charlie Simpson, former Busted vocalist) For his comfort zone blatantly isn't metal but manages to pull this song off really well. I hate it when people do vocal covers of Metallica and try to sound like James, it sounds awful and it's a gift given to the mighty Hetfield. Don't try and copy it!

  • its not bad, its just an average metal band try ing to cover thash metal, doesnt work

  • To think that I think its the vocalist of fightstar used to be in some pussy boy band, was it busted or some shit. I'll give him credit for this.

  • Wow...double bass at beginning = cool. Voice of Nickleback-wannabe-toolbag-bleeding heart pussy = horrendously gay.

  • i dont really like the vocals but i've heard so much that it's growing on me and it fits it really well to

  • hey guys, i know the original will always be better, but i think theyve done a good job covering this.

  • awesome cover!!

  • The vocals kind of sound forced like if he doesn't sing the other prison inmates will rape him up the ass.

  • sounds kinda like nickelback

  • This doesn't sound like Metallica at all <- That's the whole point of covering songs

  • That is one gay voice. And i dont mean gay as in homosexual, i mean gay as in "our primary listeners are 13 and wear makeup, eventhough they are boys."

  • His vocals are very nice!

    Very unique and just impressive...

    he´s adding his own note...

  • at first i was expecting the "choking on a dick" sort of metal voice...ROFL...but then he started to sing, and i can't decide which voice is worse lol. the actual music itself really wasn't that bad though. && i understand he's not going to sound exactly like james, but damn....

  • I love this cover so much, I find it better than the original but saying that, Leper Messiah is my least favourite song on Master of Puppets, Orion <3

  • That singer is fucking horrible for the song.

  • wow.....wtf kinda piece of shit is this? im never looking up metallica covers again!

  • God forbid...... Nickelback could do a better cover....I'm embarrassed to say that but it's true. Sad :*(

  • Why do they have the crapiest bands remaking great Metallica songs?!?!?!? The Iron Maiden Kerrang was better than this!

  • @skysnipeh Except Fightstar did a cover of Iron Maiden on that CD aswell and that was blindingly good

  • I think that this cover lacks the anger it is implied in the lyrics. It feels like he is holding his anger down. Overall a good cover I enjoyed it, but, he could have let his anger loose :)

  • 3:12 is sick

  • Yeah, this cover doesn't have the exact anger in it. BUT it is awesome in it's own way.

  • i don't like the vocals, i guess its because the song sounds better when james sing it, but its a great cover, the song is agresive but vocals just sound with no rage.

  • oh no it doesn't sound exactly like the original! it must mean the band sucks!

  • @DreamJ2eaper but no band can play like metallica

  • i don't see what everybody is bitching about, this cover aint even that bad.i've heard many metallica covers n this is one of the better ones.sure the singer doesn't sing wit the same anger/intensity as james, but so the fuck what.whats he gonna do,try to carbon copy james vocals?that would just sound rediculous.a cover is a band playing another band's song in their honor, there not tryin to totally mimic them.people are such fuckin snobs *sigh SMH.

  • @MrSFblack you are correct a cover band just plays another bands songs, but a tribute band tries to sound and act just like the band

  • This is fucking awful.

  • this ones a good one

  • definitly lacks the anger, the agression and the passion of the original but it's still pretty frickin' awesome

  • what up with all of the double bass at the begining and no one besides metallica can make this sound good and the vocals sound like kurt kobain crying

  • what up with all of the double bass at the begining and no one besides metallica can make this sound good

  • When Busted first appeared on the scene I didn't see this coming... well unlike apparently everyone else, I quite like this as a hardocore 'tallica fan.

  • what is with fucking metal bands these days? keep it in fucking standard tuning you guys are not fucking heavier at all 80's metal kicks YOUR ASS

  • @keepthrashalive you sir, fail. how can you be so narrow minded about something as creative as music? who gives a shit what tuning its in, people use different tunings to change the sound of the music and if you dont like how music changes dont fuckin listen to it.

  • @keepthrashalive i'd like to point out that some metallica songs (sad but true comes to mind) are in alternate or dropped tunings. Sad but true is in D standard. also i agree with the other guy. was something wrong with Jimmy Page because HE liked to use non-standard tunings?

  • We can say whatever we want about the vocals being too cute/emo but we have to admit this cover surely kicked some major ass and the band's effort was perfect.

  • The Drum work is the best in this cover...

  • Thats a pretty damn good cover!

  • I do my best to appreciate covers but this one is just hard too...

  • noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!

    this fucking sucks!!

  • those who critics this song should not see it as a "remastered" version, like it's said. No one is able to do a better song than James, Kirk, Lars and off course than Cliff, who was just the best metal bass player ever ... you should see this song just as a tribute of Metallica

  • still better than the funeral for a friend cover

  • The vocals are fine, it's just that you can tell this isn't his style of music he's suited for. People quit whining; it's way better than that pathetic screamo (a.k.a. deepthroat the mic and "growl") garbage.

  • this singer somehow reminds me of lemmy :p

  • @dikonio its not that growly :L

  • fucking pop singer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!fail

  • Nice vocal. I like this cover but I don't like this band ;p

  • Charlie is such an amazing vocalist but I agree metalica songs aren't for him but that doesn't change the fact he's still amazing Fightstar rule

Ps: Omar is beast on drums

  • I like the vocals... so, fuck you all

  • @tubelux90 Well then your not a true metallica fan then are you?

  • @drummerdx ul do nothin bout it coward

  • @tubelux90 fuk em

  • Everybody! Check out Jay Smith covering Enter Sandman on Swedish Idol. Just do it, and then. Imagine HIS voice, singing over this. It'd be ultimately terrifying.

  • By the way, the singer used to be in a "band" called Busted before Fightstar! Look them up if you don't know who they are....you may cry so be warned

  • I agree with everyone about the vocals, they do kill the song! Maybe if it wasn't a Metallica song we could let it slide lol He is English though, and we Brits should know not to cover American songs....EVER

  • wtf is this this guy sings like if is shit he kills this song shut the fuck up already song killer

  • love the sound but the vocals..... enough said : (

  • Vocals need to be deeper, and Heavier. Its Too Light!

  • what the fuck?

  • Vocalist's vocal does not fit .........Fuckingly does not fit this song

  • Quelle mauvaise version. La voix est à chier et l'octave est trop bas.

  • i thought the cover was done very well. it sounds like FightStar doing a metallica cover. Not fightstar BEING Metallica. They were not trying to be heavy metal BAND, like BFV or MachineHead, They are being Fightstar. I Think thats AWESOME.

  • hmm.. the vocal is on the same note during the whole song.. that makes it boring.. the guitar riffs are also sound like "a-bit-false" sometimes, especially at the begining.. hmm.. 6/10

  • he sounds like corey taylor

  • @MrGasson Agree.

  • this is the singer of busted lmao

  • @jake548490 Their guitarist can actually scream brutally. so i dont know why they didnt choose him to do it -.-

  • Vocalist could be more aggressive.. >.>

  • omg the vocals, my ears! this song needs a man to sing it, not a little bitchy emo kid

  • very decent cover

comparing the other shitly screamo bands

  • Fix this fucking vocals

  • I dont get why everyone is complaining about how it doesn't sound like Metallica, surely the point of a good cover is for a band to put their own spin on a song? if you want to hear the exact same thing then listen to the original? And personally i like fighstar and they've made some heavier stuff than Metallica, like with good screams and what not, but i guess thats just preference.

  • @spredspred lest we forget, the lead vocalist was from Busted. its all good and eveything to cover a song and put your own sound to it but when the vocals come in and sound so weak it seems pointless. The song needed a more agreesive voice. oh and making a song with vocals sounding like a strangled pig doesnt make it heavier...

  • Vocals FAIL other wise Pretty cool

  • I dont think this is very good cover. The sound is not very good compared to the classic unmistakable sound of the original album. I definately agree with deffbot and metallicaluke about all the suff they said.

  • pretty decent

  • i liked it un-till 1:01 =(

  • and how could 551 assholes like this?

  • Emo fucks please don't fuck with metal

  • It lacks the anger, adds more of a melancholy depressed kinda lonely feel, good cover overall though, better the most of the shit, he's not trying to be sound like James. Which is good. Only James can be James.

  • @metallicaluke I agree. Only James Earl Jones could be James Earl Jones. Imagine someone else even trying to attempt to voice Darth Vader. Bollocks!

  • Once again, who are these guys?

  • @metallicaluke fightstar

  • the singer needs to scream a little and more reverb to

  • that's like a rock version :L :p

  • While the singing strikes me as odd, I think the rest of the instruments are pretty interesting sounding.

  • They definatly need a new fucking singer, tune up the snare, and that's it if they did all that it would be a badass cover. Luckly the guitar saves this song from being ahitty

  • James would be so emarrased if he listeng to this TT.TT

  • @mutinykickass the vocals are really off man, i have to admit the figstar singer is cool andf everything, but James vocals here are brutal.

  • @Theothersideofhell96 How the hell would you know?

  • This isn't mainstream radio friendly rock. Stop singing like it is.

If it wasn't for that, the cover would be awesome.

  • I don't see what is at all wrong with this cover tbh. I do personally think Metallica's version is better but still, there's nothing wrong with it. If you don't like it don't bloody watch it...simples.

  • Not bad but the vocals are too light IMO

  • @jimmyzeke13 NO its like amazing and im proably the biggest metallica fan ever but this is really good

  • Haha me too!!!!

  • nooooooooooooooo when the vocals came in I was just.....nooo....no...fail

  • @stigmurder99

    yeah right, epic fail

  • @stigmurder99 agreed! the singer is terrible.

  • the instruments are badass but the singer isnt putting in enough effort. it just dosnt sound like hes putting all his heart and soul in it. thrash like this is all about anger and the singer just dosnt have it in my opinion. im not a fightstar fan btw

  • They definitely did a damn good job here, the vocalist definitely has the potential to sing that a lot more grungy and metal than he shows here. But definitely a damn good cover.

  • Lol the singer. For real? Lol :). I thought it's going to be a good cover, but the voice puts this next to Bullet for my valentine or somewhere like that.

  • In my opinion, the most underrated song on Master of Puppets.

The singer definitely isn't the 2nd coming of Hetfield but this is acceptable.

Good cover overall, Fightstar gets an A for effort...

  • The problem is the brutality and anger of the original is replaced with generic distortion on guitar, double bass, and moany vocals

  • "SING FOR ME NIMMMESSS FRANNCCEEE"

TIME FOR LUST, TIME FOR LIE

TIME TO KISS YOUR LIFE GOODBYEEE!

  • tuning was a little different from the original, still a good cover though!

  • @LIGHTD1993 Yeah, original is in standard tuning. I think this was tuned down to drop C not sure tho. But I agree, it's still an amazing cover :)

  • @zJIGSAWz666

This is definetly not Drop C, it sounds more like D, even though Drop C is just a downtuned E string in the tuning of D.

  • I fucking love this cover!!! It's amazing!!!

  • Sounds nice.

  • Not bad but the Metallica's version is better.

  • The next person that calls this band emo needs a spiked dildo shoved down their throat.

  • Not the same as Metallica but not bad.

  • They seem less powerful with the music than metallica. Vocals are great, can't really hear the bass though.

  • the voice lacks emotion, and power

  • This is much cleaner than the metallica version. I like metallica better than fightstar. Good quality video though.

  • Not enough power behind his voice? Could there BE any more power behind that voice of his? His voice is fucking sick.

  • This singer apparently never learned how to move his mouth away from the mic to breath in. It sounds like he's got an asthma problem.

  • vocals sound good to me... that snare however... i hate piccolo snares...

  • The vocals need more power behind them. They need more balls. Other than that, this cover isn't that bad.

  • haha .. they are so emo ....

  • does metallica know about this ????

  • @domanick189 ahahah, I was wondering the same thing.

  • And this singer used to be in Busted.. Now look at him. Improvement but honestly I am not a Fightstar fan :P

    Metallica for ever! >:]

  • this is so fuckin sick...both this cover and the original

  • My favorite song from master...not feeling these vocals though.

  • The vocals need BALLS, is what they need

  • its not too bad, vocals need a bit more energy to them

  • the vocals need to be more aggressive, i mean the lyrics don't sound like a drunk guy should be singing it

  • its ok the guitars and drums are equally ass good but the singing just ruins it

  • To be honest I'm surprised that they covered it as well as they did
