  • Not only did the great Eddie Layton play for the New York Yankees for all those years, prior to that he recorded about 20 record albums for Mercury and Epic Records and also recorded several albums under the name of Ashley Tappen. He also traveled thousands of miles demonstrating Hammond Organs all over the world. I was lucky enough to see and hear him work twice. He was truly one of the pop organ greats. The end of era for sure but his music lives on.

  • only been to one yankee game with Eddie, now i think it's a guy named Cartier

  • What a skill and tradition and beloved personality around the old ball park. Crowds came looking forward to him "tickle the ivory" every game.

  • I miss Eddie, too. Very nice man.

  • You know, he once told me on a phone call we had..."I don't play piano...only organ." Interesting.
