@ralegria16 yes the powder is different. Its a paste, similar to henna. Its the pure amla plant(ground up I guess) and you add water and put on your hair. In paste form its supposed to thicken strands, prevent premature gray, strengthen hair. Anyway if you dont deep condish enough afterwards it can be drying. Im not familiar with the oil but its probably infused with amla but its an oil so its completely different.hth
Did you apply the oil and amla/brahmi powders to wet hair? I just oild my hair and realized that I prolly should have rinsed it first. I have henna/amla/brahmi/shakaki/aritha powders. For tonight I think I might just use the brahmi/amla mix. Does this also increase growth rate?
Hey Holly... U inspired me again. I finally recorded how I do my amla powder treatments. I thought it was gonna be too messy and mess my laptop up, but it actually wasn't! I posted a vid response to this vid so you can see my application process. Thanks again girl for your inspiration girl.
Great vid!! I was wondering why my hair felt dry after using the Amla. I'm going to try it again. I should have gotten the powder instead of the oil. I'm hearing all these things about mineral oil. Dunno...
Ive heard that the oil contains mineral oil too, I havent tried it. Sometimes I can get away with it, sometimes I cant. Ive loved the powders though. I had my best result when I mixed it with coconut oil. Whenever I do it with just water it is really drying- not too bad but I definately have to deep condish afterwards. Let me know how you like it:-)
I had bought brahmi oil and after the fact saw that it had mineral oil in it. I didn't think it would be in the ingredients. I looked because my hair didn't like the product too much.
ive been using brahmi treatments and it makes my hair so soft and healthy, i want to start using a bit of amla powder to the treatment, i hear the amla make curly hair a little curlier
what were ur measurements...mine wasnt pastey enough i just used a few spoons of amla with evoo, vit-e oil, and water...it isnt caoting my hair like urs but im keeping it in overnight maybe next week i will have more luck....and it was good advice to coat ur hair in oil 1st something told me to do that but i didnt and the application left my hair feeling a bit dry but hopefully when i was it out i will be ok....do u dt after rinsing out amla?
I do, I dt after using it, my hair is a little dry. Its a catch 22 if you use oil in the mix, it cuts down on the conditioning effects of the amla, if you dont use it, your hair can be kinda dry. So I guess it depends on what you want to do. I use about 100 grams, or one full pack and I add water slowly until its the consistency I want. I dont know the exact measurements.sorry.I just keep adding water till its like paste, but I used alot more amla than you.I think what you describe is a rinse.
Great Video. I was really looking into these products. You gave me great insight. I was struggling with the idea of using henna cause it colored your hair and it loosened the curl pattern. I was looking for someone who had videos and tried amla so thanks for the video. I think I might try to do Amla and the brahmi mix like you did. I never heard of brahmi. I don't have an indian store here so I need to find out who sells this online. if you have any good suggestions I am open to them.
Im starting to now, I see that my hair is much shinier and the parts of my hair that were silkiest, if I can use that term are more silky and less frizzy. I have also noticed that my curls clump together better. Ive been using amla/brahmi combo and I also tried a henna/amla/shakakai/brahmi/tannin mix recommended by the idian store owner. So in total Ive done about 7 treatments and it took 3 or so before I started noticing anything. I also deep condish afterwards. Ill keep you posted.
Great info, I wanted to use amla but was afraid it will turn my hair's red hue to brown are darker. I do use amla as a face cleanser and it works wonders. I recently purchased some Shikakai, Neem and Aritha to add to my poos.
Let me know how those are. The amla has made my hair so incredibly thick in just 3 applications, Im going to have to cut back a little. I love it but it doesnt need to be much thicker, Im afraid it will get hard for me to manage. I use the amla as a face mask once a week and it is great. I love it, seems like it works on wrinkles and skin imperfections. Its great.
yeah I heard that too, its just that if I use it all the time then it will be relaxed temporarily forever, if you know what I mean. I think I will still use it, but like once a month or once every 5wks or so, so that I get the benefits without the drawbacks, Ive seen peoples hair go, from like mine to almost straight on the top because of henna and I dont want that to happen to me. Thanks for checking out my vids;-)
why do it in an iron pot?what if I use it in a plastic pot?

I've heard that the henna only relaxes the curl pattern temporary. but this looks promising... I'm gonna go check out pt 2.
