  • How often do you have to get sisterlocks retightened? And how much does that cost about?

  • @ladysaphia Hey lady, retightenings vary in time but the average is 6-8 weeks cycles. Call me 478 501-7836 for more info! thanks

  • Your hair is gorgeous!!!

  • I wish you did more videos sis, you were an inspiration for me to finally loc my hair...I check in on your channel every now and again, and.......(o:

  • this is soooo dope :) thanks for sharing!

  • Your hair is so beautiful and you have such a sweet spirit given away through the camera!!!!

  • oh my gosh, you are my hair inspiration. I've had sisterlocks for 6 months. Seeing you hair makes me so glad I made the decision to lock my hair!!

  • what type of lifestyle are you representing with sista locks? i want to do it because i am sick and tired of perming my hair and have been natural for 2+ years now. i just wear wraps [styling] and love it, but i am leaning towards sista locks.

  • @majoshlin It i a life style of accepting what I have, enhancing what is already there. If you are leaning towards Sisterlocks, I'd say instead of lean, for you might fall, take a firm step.! smile

  • good

  • *sigh* Your locs are looking SO nice Salkis!

  • Wow. You look great!

  • niceeee hair :]

  • this is absolutely beautiful, I will be getting sister locks soon, I don't know how to prepare my natural hair but do you think it's a good idea to let it grow out so more so that I can have loc a certain length?

  • I am seriously considering sister locks and I have my consultant from a certified locktician in two weeks. I'm so excited!!! I can't imagine someone wanting to chop off their beautiful lengthy locks but I guess we all go through our transitions. I am one year natural and it has truly been a journey. Thanks for the tips!

  • A stylish but elegant look - thanks so much for sharing!

  • @xan you can split the locks by gradually cutting the ends in to make to legs so to speak. but this is a long process and the risk of breakage is very high.

@nshouston, I am rinses to give very vibrant colors. With my own hair I prelighten it with a level 6 or 7 then I add a rinse so that it pics up the color high. You can use Avatar, Manic Panic, Adore, for your rinse and maybe Soft Sheen Carson in honey brown or anything that is a level 6 or higher for really dark hair.

  • why on earth were you asking for tips girl? u look fab!

  • Question regarding hair coloring, can you recommend a brand ?

  • Hey ,

I found someone to tighten my hair at cheaper rate. - but locs are sooooooooooooooo thin. I'm scared . help! She doestn't know how to combine my locks. Think I should ave gone to real loc./tech not friend :0( I will send U pic

  • salkis!!! i always love your vids! you are looking radiant and i hope to see some of your daughters hair development... make more vids! peace

  • your s-locs are so beautiful!! i am very interested i getting s-locs soon after my transition from relaxed to natural. i never knew so much could be done with locs.

  • Thanks for the great ideas for styling sisterlocks! I have medium length sisterlocks and really dont know how to style them creatively. Please please please keep the tutorials coming.

  • OMG! your so beautiful!

  • Wow. Beautiful!

  • I have sisterlock also- shoulder length. OMG! I haven't had them tighten in months. I'm scared I may lose some of my hair because some of the locks are sooooooooo thin and I dont want to combine them because I like the fullnest. before s-loc's I had that fly away hair. Money is very tight. Help! It goint o cost an arm an a leg to get tightened. Tech is going to chage me 35.00 per hr. three 3" of new growth!

  • @mfourreal If you have that much new growth, you can start retigtening it yourself with your fingers, if you can slip them into the space. I will cut down on the time and money to get them retigthened. Newbien Loc Princess also showed how to make a homemade loc tool out of a children's needle and it works. I have been using it for two months. Find a friend to help. Find a loc buddy and retighten each others hair for free. On the last retightening I paid $180.00. NOT AGAIN.

  • @Letwisdomspeak1 Great advice, here in Dallas it averages about $500 for an intial session. I love the look, but I don't want to start something that i can't afford to keep up. So i definitely have to find an affordable route.

  • @mfourreal

save up your money for the retightening classes that sisterlocks offers throughout the year. it's good to know how to retighten your own locs.

  • I missed you! glad your back:0)

  • You are so pretty and creative. I'm going to try this with my hair.

  • love the hair!! wow what a transformation, it looks really good!!! be blessed :)
