  • Love each of those books!!! 2 big thumbs up for Dave Ramsey, Tightwad Gazette, and the beloved paperback swap !!! I've been a member for about 3 years! Another good way to get super cheap books....library sales. Our local library has 2 sales a year...one in the spring, one in the fall. On the last day of the sale you can get an entire box of books for $5!! They supply boxes of various sizes, I have even brought my own and any size box is $5.

  • Not to be a fuddy duddy, but I disagree with the statement "With Dave Ramsey's help, we are able to pay our bills first." Even without his help, this should be an automatic. I am on disability, and I pay all bills first, the rest is alloted out as needed. I do love the book choices you showed. I make my own cleaners, hygeine products, laundry detergents, etc. and that helps alot. For books I want to own for reference, I look for used on amazon.com, much cheaper. Love Complete Tightwad Gazette!

  • People always say...Shop clearance, but you know what I do? Don't shop (for clothes) at all! One of my goals for 2011 was don't buy any new clothes and I did that! I plan to do it again in 2012.

  • I'm a student and on a tight budget; love your channel...Youtube and google are my best friends as well :D

  • These tips are all awesome. I have been making frugal lifestyle changes myself. I love the tightwad books ( all three of them). Still got impluse issues I need to work on: take out and taxi's lol.

  • Dave Ramsey rocks!

  • i love garage sales, thrift stores, and Good Will...and you really light up when you smile... ☺ ♥

  • @prettycountrygal What am amazingly sweet thing to say, thank you.

  • Awesome awesome vlog Pam! Loved it, loved the books, loved the tips! I've been obsessed with soap lately and I would love to learn how to make cold process soap! I don't want to do the melt and pour kind. Have you made any yet?

  • @Superfreaky1RU It has been a while but yes. I am out of the oils I need so I have to re-stock my supplies but it isn't hard. Just have to follow directions exactly and like anything else, there are of course videos here for the steps. I hate melt & pour, that is not soapmaking.

  • totally awesome tips, i like the books you selected to pick out :D you know i've always wanted to get into soap making :) i think it would be really neat... oh my sewing i think is so important to know, also i like knowing how to repair jewelry when it breaks which saves lots of monies too, oh i can't wait to do my video.. oh i love your cookbook, it inspires me to want to make my own cookbook too :)

  • @cupcakeonawire Oh I am so glad you enjoyed the video. I have tons of tips and ideas, I had to make myself stop. I grew up extremely poor and had to learn out of necessity but the idea of being wasteful in any way still bothers me greatly to this day. I think it is just a smart way to live.

  • @MsPamIam you are very wise :D <3

  • What a great video!!! xx

  • oh wow I so wish I could find the complete tightwas gazette:-) it looks amazing:-) thank you so much for doing this video

  • You are awesome Pam. Really wanted to see how you do the envelope money system...guess I'll have to go get the book. Really enjoy your channel and those of the other ladies.

  • @Saje610 I think I attached the video, hope it works.
