  • Someone should make a Movie on Khe Sanh.

  • i think the americans are not good when it comes in jungle warfare jungle is very much different in urban warfare only asian such as myself have affinity in jungle warfare i an a vietcong soldier

  • One of the most powerful experience in any war and in most tragedies, The Natural Brotherhood between men!.

  • I was recalled to the Btry from 1/4 the 1st week of July, 1968. G/3/12 was then at Khe Sanh. The next day we formed a convoy and embarked for Ca Lu on Route 9. Our convoy cleared the ridge just east of Khe Sanh when the first round hit over us in the river. Co Roc's 2nd round hit the ridge above Route 9. The 3rd round went into the river. The convoy stopped and the troups danced on the hwy because Co Roc could not hit us. Too bad for Co Roc.

  • Bomb them back to the Stoneage was the catch cry of Vietnam, due to an unfortunate set of unfortunate circumstances the end came not at the choosing of the U.S but by the Enemy.

  • LESSON LEARNED. WE HOLD GROUND AND PULVERIZE THE ENEMY WHILE THEY ARE AT THEIR WEAKEST.

THEY SHOULD HAVE USED THE CONFISCATED WEAPONS TO BEEF UP THE SOUTH VIETNAMESE ARMY TO HELP WIN THE WAR.

  • LESSON LEARNED. WE HOLD GROUND AND PULVERIZE THE ENEMY WHILE THEY ARE AT THEIR WEAKEST.

  • My dad was with 3rd mar div 12th marines bravo battery 66-67

  • happy birthday you fucking jarheads semper fi

  • Dont forget the Seabees that were at Khe Sanh. Building bunkers, air strips and bridges on route 9. I was at Quang Tri. I know some fine Marines that were there, One is dying from cancer now . From agent orange.

  • Don't forget the French paras who also fought and died in those jungles.

  • see how much general population knows about war. People are having argument about the purpose of war and if they won or not.. i feel sorry for soldiers who have to fight for greedy bastards sitting in their safe shells...

  • The Vietnam War happened because of the scumbag imperialist FRENCH.

  • @TheLoyalOfficer it makes sense. The US jumped into Indochina to save the French. Then got stuck in it. Otherwise , US should have recognized Vietnam Independence in 1945, Ho Chi Minh couldn't have relied so much on the Soviet bloc to gain independence.

  • propaganda sucks ass

  • According to this documentary, the U.S. clearly WON the Vietnam War !!!

    God Bless Propaganda !

  • @twosure94 WON? Communist still there.

  • @twosure94 u.s. won the battles but sadly lost the war....

  • @raider808100

My point was: that the NVA used Khe Sanh as a diversion for their Tet Offensive... but nowhere in this documentary is that ever mentionned !

In my opinion: if the U.S. had developed a network of snipers in southern laos, they could have shut-down the Ho Chi Minh Trail ... but instead they wasted most of their money on expensive and ineffective air-interdictions operations.

  • @twosure94 no arguments here... very poor planning and and a waste of lives.....

  • @twosure94 are you brave enough to become a sniper in Laos forest?

  • @trung14588

I agree with you ... not an easy task. But I think that would have turn the tide !

What do you think the U.S. should have done to win the war ?

  • @twosure94 when i said "brave enough" I think you know what wrong in this war. Why is VC braver than G.I in a forest? Because all of them think the forest is belong to them so do the country. Their belief seem like a religion. So i think US army did everything they could, they just didn't have a real reason for the war.

  • Guys get this straight IT WAS >NEVER<! AMERICA'S WAR . It was the war between South Vietnam and North (communist) America chose to HELP and assist the war not Make it america's war. AMERICA NEVER LOST THE VIETNAM WAR

  • @SuperHow1 Congratulations. You took a college course about the Vietnam War and stole your professor's argument. Great job.

  • @skankuser Thank you :D

  • @SuperHow1 LOL. Troll.

  • @swagger93 LOL thanks, i love my job :D

  • @SuperHow1 finally someone who studied history the Vietnam war was a civil war the sad thing is there trying to erase the war the modern Vietnamese government which is the communist government its sad though i talked to vets and immigrants from the south the nva were cruel bastards they massacred whole towns just for fun some of them

  • @TheNekoman123 Cruel dude,

the thing is, they would rape and murder other womens and kill their baby's if they ever interfeard

or didn't do as said. Makes me rage how much shit they do .

  • Westmoreland was a total tragedy. I Corps was well pacified by the marines until aggresive patroling and 'body count' became the determing factor of victory.

  • The NVA learned about Marines at Khe Sanh!

  • @hauntzd The Marines learned "how to lose" ???

  • @hauntzd Sure, they learned how fast they can call in air support as soon as they hear a cricket! Somethings never change... ;P

  • @hauntzd The Marines still lost the war however...

  • @troytblevins Politicians rarly listen to the leaders on the ground that know what their talking about

  • @troytblevins To bad the vietnam war started in the late 50s so Kennedy didn't start it

  • Douglas MacArthur begged JFK and LBJ to stay out of Vietnam. JFK listened and followed this advice, LBJ didn't and is now a disgrace. (See 'American Caesar" pages 10 & 626)

  • @solohoh But JFK had been the person to send ammo, and resources to the South Vietnamese Army. By then, America was already 6 inches deep. The "domino theory" had lead the U.S. to invade any communist country. So JFK was the one to actually start the US's involvement in Vietnam. LBJ just followed through. It was a tough situation and I am 100% certain LBJ had to think long and hard with many advisors to aid him.

  • @solohoh MacArthur advocated using nuclear weapons against China in the Korean War as well. Just because one person says something rationally in hindsight, doesn't mean that he's a genius.

MacArthur was an excellent military commander, but politicians and other military advisers had good reason at the time not to listen to the guy.

  • im reading a book some guy wrote there

  • @thatgoodskater is it my name is America....his name is Patrick?? its my favorite book

  • From incoming rounds.....

  • Wow! what a firework display...This was my old stompin' grounds....I have a few pictures from this area... August 1967 is when I got my Purple Heart...We had to stay awake almost 24/7...incoming every few minutes....

  • @riowest2000 cheers from Canada man, thanks for doing your part. Was the purple heart a result of shelling or a patrol>?

  • i want one of those jeep mounted recoil-less rifles

  • @METALLIKIDofTBR could probably build one with help of an engineer and a machine shop, building the rounds would be a little more difficult but probably not too hard either. Technology from that era is simple and even a regular jackoff with a fabrication lab can build production quality items nowadays... including firearms if you have the know how and skillset... just be careful with the math on pressure values or you'll blow your face off

  • bbbbeeeeaaaasssssttttt
