  • that interviewer asking about the dress what an idiot

  • Yeah what's with the interviewer and the lame questions. Madonna was probably saying later, "What the hell was that?"

  • does it seem like Jane is like, cross examining her? lol

  • the dress bit is hilarious..Madonna is just like wat the fuck

  • God, how DUMB is this interviewer! The questions about the dress are embarrassing

  • It's no wonder Jane Pauley isn't on Tv anymore. What a ditz.

  • Madonna is in control here and that wasn't Jane's presumption. Madonna knows that Jane is envious and Jane refuses to be convinced, although she does realize that her intimidation towards Madonna is not working and Madonna is throwing it right back at her with a joker's smile. This interview is classic and demonstrates just how intelligent Madonna truly is.

  • @VYQXN , Why the hell would someone try to intimidate Madonna. It's like trying to intimidate Bill Gates

  • Madonna's looking at her like...you're a fucking idiot! LOL

  • Ha ha this is the funniest & weirdest interview ever.

  • I hate that she like rejects and looks down on her earliest years. I loved how she dressed and acted and NOW she talks about how embarrassed she is that she was ever that way...but that's why people loved her.

  • @DanceInTheDark711 agreed! I feel the same. I'm a good fan of her but I can't stand when she says 'what was I thinking with my hair' and so on. I remember during the American Life era she was getting annoying with it.

  • I remember watching this when it aired Madonna looked soooo Good!!

  • FUNKY EYEBROWS!

  • WTF is wrong w/ this dumbass woman......a 5 year old could ask more compelling questions for somebody as amazing and as talented as Madonna.

  • @poopsrus26 well, where's jane pauley now?? lol, barbara walters still has a career.

  • Ridiculous interview. I would ask some real questions for Madonna. Just sit and talk like a friend. Poor Madonna looks so bored out of her skull

  • cute , but hte dress.....

  • 1987-THE YEAR THAT I WAS BORN.

  • Why are most people who interview Madonna total morons and ask the dumbest questions?

  • This is an amazing interview. Cynical questions turned out that Madonna is clever enough answering them with manners and class.

  • Jane Pauly is a bitch, Madonna rules!

  • Jane Pauley: Where did you get that Dress?

Madonna: At a fucking bargin bin for Five Fucking Dollars! What kinda stupid question is that?

*few minutes later* Jane: your dress is so-

Madonna: What the Fuck is your obsession with my dress?!

  • shes so pretty! italian beauty at one of its best! <3 MADONNA <3

  • Gaga reminds me of Madonna...just they way she talks in interviews as well. And whats wrong with this interviewer...it's like shes slightly mocking Madonna.

  • Madonna is playing Marilyn Monroe...voice fluctuation and everything....

  • I'm surprised by how nice was Madonna with this silly interviewer ... I guess a few later would be different

  • WHAT THE FUCK? shes really going to talk with Madonna about her fuckin' dress all the interview?

  • she looks so skinny here. too skinny... she looked better when she put a bit of weight on. :)

  • I like her old music, but her personality has never impressed me. She's so boring and full of herself.

  • This Madonna is very reminiscent of the Madonna of today - the way she talks and the tone in her voice. Even the way she looks in the face and the way she holds herself. It's just the hair that throws it off. The Madonna of 1989-1992 is almost unrecognizable today.

  • this woman is so shit at interveiwing n asks such stupid questions...

  • Yeah, Jane Pauley... Who it seems career is long gone 20 years later and Madonna is still going strong. She's not wearing a stupid shoulder pad suit and aquanet bangs, she likes what she likes, and she OWNS it!

  • what a fucking interview...honestly. The interviewer should b shot dead, She keeps on asking about that fucking dress. Diiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiieeee!!!!

    I love Madonna tho

  • Stupid bitch interviewer.

  • This was the time when Madonna started acting like a bitch during most interviews. And that annoying voice of hers... I like Madonna's music and live shows (especially the first live shows), but I don't like her as a person at all.

  • @treg1980 Well don't watch her interviews then.

  • BITCH WOW MADONNA IS AWESOME BUT THE ANNOUNCER IS SOOO MEANNN

  • wow 5 dollars? now shes the richest female singer in the world!

  • She picked the wrong career this interview was just a waste of time i bet Madonna was wondering whay she said yes to her lol lol

  • It seems to me Pauley was trying hard to get inside Madonna, but Madonna was good back then at keeping her guard up, Pauley starts with casual conversation to get her relaxed, but it doesn't work and so she keeps trying, that's why such talk about the dress for so long and Pauley getting frustrated. She even admits at the end that she knows her no better than she did when they first sat down. I think Jane was fascinated by her but couldn't get anything out of her.

  • Those eyebrows.

  • really dumb questions

  • oh God, she seems like a grandmother! Love her

  • This is a stupid interview. Were we really talking about a dress that she bought in a drift store for 9 min. COME on!!! Can we ask more interesting questions?

  • she looks so pretty in this interview. i love her lipstick. :)

  • If anything Pauley's attitude towards Madonna is indicative of the fact that the

journalist might have slept her way to the top. She's clearly annoyed by the then

28 yo Madonna's level of success....In the words of pud Whacker:

    EAT IT

  • My God

What a full-on witch that Pauley sure is

boring interviewer and jealous of Madonna's mega success at the age of 28

She didn't come from an elite family? All the more resons to applaud her and

congratulate her on her success but Jane seems to be mad at her for being

successfull.......like "I don't understand how this nothing standing before me

has achieved so much in such a short span of time....it pisses me off" kind of

    undertone.....

  • this lady seems so shocked by madonna in this interview like she was expecting a completely different person like a dumb naive blonde or somethin. lol madonna showed her!

  • Love this thanks

    F

  • this is one of the worst interviews i've ever seen. no wonder jane pauley was fired. over 5 minutes talking about a dress... you've got to be kidding me.

  • @playinthesurf

    ahahahahahaha

  • @playinthesurf Jane Pauley was never fired get your facts straight

  • This was Madonna's best look. She looked beautiful, sexy and mature.

  • lol at the interviewer. can you get any more

fake and pretentious and at the same time appear cheap and shallow and of course envious to the core....lmfao

  • its weird how it was AFTA this era wher she went all slutty :P

  • @spiderlegs1987 Many people considered her "slutty" at the time of this interview. You have to take the time period into account. In the early 1980s it was shocking to hear the word "Virgin" on the radio, for example. Today, that's nothing.

  • The interviewer is sucha bitch, Madonna shoulda spat at her and walked out!

  • @cyberaga20

now you should never be reactive

    Cabala says so

and it's Cabala and not Kabbolocks eh eh

  • I think it took until 1990 with like a prayer and vogue for the media to take her seriously.

  • I agree G18

  • @dontamaze thank you :)

    x

  • interviewer is a bit of a ditz

  • That's because people thought that Madonna was a ditz, that she wasn't supposed to be taken seriously. Look at the way people during this time seem to talk down on her.

  • i agree. countless albums later they better now recognize shes deeper than the fuckin sea.

  • @BabyG18

    I agree totally

  • Her IQ is said to be over 140... which litterally means shes a genious. I guess she always knows what moves to make and thats how shes come so far.

  • @eliud82 She hadn't proven herself yet. This was 1987, and she didn't really become a major star until 1985. So, people still saw her as a flash-in-the-pan, thinking she'd disappear soon.

  • that's funny, because I saw her live in concert in 2006. weirdo.
