I like very much her singing but I ENJOY SO MUCH her way of being, her way of talking and joking!!! She was so kind! That's the woman I want for me!!! not her, but someone as nice as her and with her voice! (I'm not being demanding or selective hahahahaha) That's what explains why I don't have a girlfriend! LOL
Bonynge certainly knows! There's a great moment in, "The Reluctant Prima Donna" where he's describing Joan's Eb and how it was "such a PART of her voice" and his face positively SHINES with pleasure and awe.
Thank God for recordings and video! We never have to be without La Stupenda!
I love these two, jsust bought the documentary today :) Hopefully it will arrive soon (before xmas)

I read once where Joan described herself as being, "a stolid old cow." She's a doodle!

Yeah - LOL! I never cared what she looked like, what she wore, or whether she acted at all. Just open the mouth and sing, Joanie!

Oh Yes! NEVER TO BE FORGOTTEN!!!
I was so lucky to see her perform as Lucia (2x) and Anna Bolena. How much I enjoyed this and I cherishes this events for the rest of my life

Dame Joan is completely without affectation! It's as if she has no idea how rare or unusual her voice is. Mr. Bonynge is a hugely gifted as well.
