  • So you have to read a book to learn how to jump? Just do leg exercises, warm ups and practice on it. Sounds so weird to just learn a technique like that. But if you still want to learn how by buying the manual, go ahead. This is just my opinion.

  • Im abou to be 15 in august im almost 6"3 and i used to be able to touch rim everytime and grab it every once in a while and after weighted squats and jumping up steps with ankle weights now im above the rime with the ball and almost dunking i just keep missing the dunk after like a week or two thats how muc i progressed i dont have this manual though its just another bad reason to spend money do squats calf raises then move up with weighted squats and youll be dunking quicker then u can say vert

  • Want to have better resaults for free? All you have to do is jump a lot, improving the muscles strength that are used in jumping. If you pay 1 cent to learn how to improve your jumping height you have just wasted your money. Especially if it on a book.

  • i did the jump manual and i gained 20 inches in 3 months...also gained 25 inches in 4 months...i think my body is getting used to the exercises that the jump manual gives so its starting to not work as well

  • @DaFreed123 No...you know there is a limit to your vertical right and training will always go slower as it progresses? You can't expect to get 20 inches every 3 months forever no matter what excercise you use or you'd see people who have been working out for 10 years jumping like 20 ft

  • @SweetandSaltyNutbars stretch. worked for me. the body is an amazing thing. why do you think michael phelps has long ass arms. he reaches out when he swims so his arms grow. every day try to extend you arms far. reach up reach to the sides for 10 seconds at a time and repeat it over and over. again, it worked for me. my arm span is 6ft 7inches.

  • @NikosxDaf wen u lay down on your back and bend your knees, and without using your hands, move your upper body to where you can touch your legs. its hard to explain, look it up

  • to dunk you need to get your hand 10-20 cm over the rim cause it is also the ball that has to get in the rim.touching the rim certainly doesn t mean you can dunk....

  • i didn't get the book. but what i did was every night i started to do leg exercises, and in less than a week i was able to dunk. What i did was : 1) Stretch,2) Hop on the tips of my toes 30 times,3) do the same thing but on one foot at a time, 4) Do planks,5) Hop across my room on the tips of my toes (One foot at a time) 6) and did 30 Crunches

    i also did those break dancing things where you hold one leg and jump through it for fun.

    So i wouldnt recommend the book

  • @papacrosseye those are some good exercises people can do, but it won't work for everyone. The Jump Manual goes into a lot more detail, giving a lot more options and plans for different people, as well at nutritional info to enhance and quicken the process.

    You haven't read the book, so you can't give a recommendation or non-recommendation.

  • @papacrosseye Yeah, I do the hop on toes (burnouts) like 300 for like 2-4 sets 3 times a week and do 100 calf raises a day and 200 situps a day. It helps somewhat, but not DRASTICALLY. I am still looking for the DRASTIC change. What's a plank?

    it depends on your height...

    6 footer will definetly need more time than a 7 footer...

    I started doing my exercises and they're helping.

    jump on tip of my toes 100 times or more...

    jump on a stair and down and on and down for 100 times...

    i do planks too but only 50, not more...

    it's helping... i thought of jumping over obstacles too, but I don't have the willpower. :P

  • @cosmicGOON i would say "Air Alert" is the best way! and dont just train your legs. also train every muscle in you overbody. not only your legs;)

  • Calve Raises and squats.

  • all you gotta do is calf raises, squats, and do exploding jumps (you jump as high as you can and you touch your knees to your chest) but you also need to stretch. if you want to store more muscle then stretching creates that extra storage room.

  • you should use darker writing so we can read what the words say

  • I'm 13 almost 14. 5'5'' and can nearly grab rim. I'm white. All I worked on was Calve Raises. I do about 3 sets of 100 every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday now. I used to do them a lot and it got me some high ups. Now I'm getting ever higher ups.

  • i dont believe you, not on a 10ft rim at least. my arm reaches up to 7'3 and i'm 5'8, so your arms reach probably about 7'0. Therefore you would need at least a 36'' vert to touch the rim, not a 21''. So either you're being modest, or are not using a standard hoop.
