I once was in the Wii Shop Channel I thought of downloading this game but I downloaded Super Mario Brothers 3 instead, and I regret that desion because I found Super Mario 3 Crap!

In its heyday, Atari had deep pockets and could afford to license many arcade games for their systems (2600 and their 8-bit computer line -- 400/800/XL, etc.) This predates when Nintendo had a game system. When the NES was launched, they refused to license their stuff to outside companies. Companies had to get approval to make games for the NES, so quality control could be maintained. Remember all those really bad games released for the 2600? They didn't want a repeat of that.

Nintendo always had the rights to Mario... You gotta remember that most of the Atari games first came out on the Arcade... If the arcade game was good they made a console version... This is the birth of nintendo... If This game and Donkey Kong didnt sell at the time, we probably wouldnt have Nintendo in the Video game history...
