anybody got tips for a good, jeff beck-esque sounding overdrive? I have an esp mh-1000, mahogany body/maple neck with a seymour duncan jb in the bridge, and a 2x12 6L6 amp (peavey valveking)

@Spocksbrother Try a Lovepedal Kalamazoo. Jeff Beck uses a Klon Centaur, and PGS did a shootout between the Centaur and the Kalamazoo, the results were pretty similar. Have a look for the vid on Youtube.

@Spocksbrother A strat, fingers, a loud amp. To be honest Beck doesn't care about his setup, he just wants a big overdriven sound, if you want to nail his early tones, you need a Tonebender of some sort

Do overdrives have any effect on solid state amps? I would hate to by a $100 pedal just to realize it doesn't do much to a solid state amp, and that it only pushes tube amps a little harder.
