  • 0:58...BOB MARLEY?

  • I feel like i could sit down with an av fan and be a bro with him just cause this moment. Rays only regret wasnt winning it in boston, but i think CO did him well too. Now we both hang his number

  • My favourite player, also one of the classiest players to ever play the game.

  • Joe Sakic lot's of class

  • I don't follow hockey, but Sakic is a true sportsman for that gesture. Bourque got what he deserved after so long.

  • This makes me shed tears every time! Crosby's OT Golden Goal and this are my fav hockey moments of all time !!

  • Awesome. Sakic, what a class act. Handed it right over to Bourque the first chance he got, and didn't hold on to it any longer than he had to before that. Another thing about it is that Bourque and Sakic were rivals for so many years on the Bruins and Nordiques in the old Adams Division.

  • I'm from Finland.. and this team.. this victory! This was it! the one of the NHL:s best teams ever!

  • go avs

  • its fucking gay how bourqes number is retired by the avanlanche hes a fuckin bruin

  • @bruinsfan19304 hows that "gay"? Its the Avalanche showing respect you dumb cunt, fucking stupid kid

  • @bruinsfan19304 Kill yourself. You disgrace your city's team.

  • @bruinsfan19304 your an Idiot.... They retired him number because he was well liked and respected in CO you dumbass.... Very classy you

  • @avsfan73 he played more years with the bruins than ur sorry ass team has years in the nhl

  • @bruinsfan19304 maybe so.. But he won a cup with my sorry ass team...

  • Classiest move ever!!

  • Fuck Avalanche - Wings 4ever

  • As a Bruins fan, I love to see him hoist the cup

  • I'm a Blues fan and I never tire from seeing this. 77 is a class act through and through. My only wish is that the Blues could have pulled off the Bourque trade with Boston before Lacroix did.

  • Huge Wings fans here, I hate the Avs, but I can't help but smile when I see Ray lift that Cup....great moment in NHL history.

  • such a cup hog :)

  • Still got this recorded on vhs, watch it everyone once and a while, this personifies hockey.

  • Fucking homo Bettman

  • @MichRockHop81108: I hear ya, I myself am not from usa or canada but love hockey. I'm a red wing fan aswell but I just don't like this crosby hype, every game at some point they start whining about Crosby. Sure he scores and makes plays, he also dives and complains at refs all the time. Hell he's not even the best penguin, that's malkin in my opinion. Anyway I wouldn't trade 1 Datsyuk for 10 Crosbys! Great video, gotta love Bourque and Sakic

  • If you weren't crying the moment Ray hoisted the Stanley Cup? You ain't human. What a class act Joe Sakic with the greatest pass of all time!

  • Bettman sucks.

  • classic classy vancouverite sakic

  • Im from detroit I hated the Av's but it was a lot better than the penguins of today they fucking suck penalty fabricating penguin shit heads. At least the avs were good and had a STORY behind them not like the penguins who just purchase power plays

  • @MichRockHop81108 agreed

  • @MichRockHop81108 you can tell they go out with an atitude to be put on the pp

  • @MichRockHop81108 That's what the NHL has come to these days. Bettman and his cronies have eliminated all stories these days.

  • @RichardxNixon I dont think it's as rigged as the NBA for example though, but still The Pens have a better chance because of people for some reason just SHELLING out cash for crosby.

  • That was incredible class on Sakic's part. Absolutely amazing.

  • Red Wings fan here. Yes, this is the best moment, followed by Lanny McDonald

  • Class act by Sakic to let Bourque be the 1st to raise the cup and class act by Bourque in giving the cup back to Sakic afterward.

  • 21 years old and i've seen this clip dozens of times. I cant stop crying.

  • Sakic is so classy also

  • I was 10. My father woke me up at night... still remember this after more than 10 years.

  • Probably The classiest play in Any sport. I grew up a Bruins fan and still get goosebumps when I see this. Thank You, Thank You, Thank You Joe Sakic. A radio sports guy called Ray Bourque "Classy Ray" when he took off his #7 at Esposito's number retirement, Sakic showed so much more here.

  • @DLarson1083 stay classy DLarson

  • @DLarson1083 this isn't about the avalanche dumbass.

  • I get misty-eyed every time I watch this. What a moment in history.

  • Gives me chills

  • I'll never forget this. And seeing his son bawl too. One of those legendary moments in sports IMO.

  • Why does Bettman always shake when he talks?

  • Comment removed

  • Damn, that's good sportsmanship on Sakic's part. Not an Avs fan, but I love watching this particular SC final

  • i hope kimmo timonen and flyers win stantleycupfinals

  • @mujinnokoya You are an idiot

  • I swear its the allergies

  • Who's chopping onions?

  • Coming from a die-hard Red Wings fan: you can't call yourself a hockey fan if that doesn't move you. Unbelievable.

  • @screenwrita17 amen brother

  • lol, back when Bettman wasn't booed.

  • damn onions...

  • I've watched this so many times...never gets old

  • Although it was great to see Bourque hoist the cup, this moment is tainted by my extreme hatred for that sniveling little weasel Gary Bettman, and I hope to god that someone takes it upon themselves to kill that cunt.

  • Sakic really did show a lot of class here.

  • Not even an Avs fan but I remember watching this when I was like 8 years old. Goosebumps...to this day....goosebumps.

  • @Greencomb7 Of course he does XD.

  • Bettman ruins everything

  • "And after 22 years, Raymond Bourque!"

    gets me every time!

  • 100% Class

  • Bettman trying to steal the show. what a joke

  • sucks he couldn't win the Cup with the Bruins, but all that matters is Ray still won it! Bourque is a LEGEND!

  • I don't understand how anyone can see this and not like hockey. Greatest sport in the world.

  • I love how the announcer stops talking to let the moment live. This was epic.

  • Ray.. legend. Loved those 90s B's teams. Bourque, Adam Oates, Cam Neely.. loved 'em.

  • Until the Bruins won this year, this was (and still is) like winning the Stanley cup for us too

  • Sakic. all class. What a good Canadian kid!

  • I'm not even an Avalanche fan (Blackhawks fan born and raised) but this never fails to send chills down my spine. What an incredible way to honor a guy like Bourque. Sakic couldn't have been any classier.

  • wow god damn i dont even like hockey that much but thats so cool.

  • Avs were owning everyone back then....dallas too.

  • How did i came here?

  • after 22 years....RAYMOND BOURQUE!!!

  • What retards give this a thumbs down?

I know he was a Bruins player for so long, but who cares? Lifts the cup after 22 years on his last game. As we say over here, you couldn't write this any better.

    Habs fan.

  • i didn't know you could record with a flashlight

  • Damn dust in my eye.

  • what team is this

  • @05candyman colorado avalanche

  • Classy player right there.

  • The only problem is that Bourque wasn't wearing black and gold...

  • I miss the old Avalanche team :/

  • My favourite moment in all sport history!

    Ray Bourque is my hero!

  • the kid at 2:13 is chris borgue raymonds son who currently plays on the HERSHEY BEARS of the AHL

  • "RAYMOND BOURQUE!" literally my favorite call in all of sports. just ahead of jeanneret's "may day" hahaha.

  • nothing better then this the dust is always in my eye when i watch this

  • LeBron traveled

  • Burnaby Joe. Forever Our Captain.

    Go AVS!

  • Wish he could have done it with the Bruins....but nobody deserved it more than Bourque!! Def one of the best moments in hockey!!

  • I get chills every, and I mean every single time i see this.

  • sakic is on the canadian team

  • This is the last time Gary heard cheers in an arena while he was giving his Stanley cup speech!

  • thank you Colorado for winning one for Ray

    -Boston

  • Gary Thorne's commentary was awesome for this

  • Sakic could have lifted the cup himself but he gave it to RB for the lift truly a great sportsman.

  • This game and Tampa Bay Lightning Stanley Cup win for Dave Andreychuck were proabably the best Cup wins in the last decade at least

  • Who even watch this Hockey shit. lol

    Europe? Asia? South America? Africa?

The real football (which north American people call "soccer" ) is the only national sports where all around the world enjoys..haha

  • @WWWWWWWWWWWWWWWVWW Ice Hockey is more popular in Finland and Canada

  • @sniffman1 Don't forget the United States!

  • @sskingplayer Nah, Baseball and American Football is more popular there

  • @sniffman1 I live in the states, and in massachusetts, maine, vermont, new york, california, alaska, and new hampshire, hockey is big.

  • @sskingplayer I'm talking about the whole country

  • @sniffman1 Then how come USA comes in 2nd place overall in the last winter olympics? I'm pretty sure hockey is a major sport.

  • @sskingplayer It doesnt mean it's popula, it only means that they have a good team

  • @sniffman1 But for a national team to be good, It obviously has to be popular.

  • @sskingplayer No...

  • @sniffman1 yes...

  • @sskingplayer you left out the 2 biggest hockey states in america. Michigan, and Minnesota.

  • @THE1playmaker94 This is true.

  • @WWWWWWWWWWWWWWWVWW I'd rather watch tiddlywinks before soccer. soccer is vastly inferior to real North American sports

  • Gonna be Iginla some day :tear:

  • amazing...

  • classiest moment in sports by none other than Super Joe

  • One of the greatest moments I've ever seen in hockey. What a legend.

  • 10 YEARS AFTER BOURQUE WON THE CUP, HIS FORMER BRUINS WON IT WITH MONSTER ZDENO.

  • WHEN EVERYTHNG WAS REALLY EVERYTHING, NOT JUST FOR GREED LIKE NOW!

  • class, such class. love it.

  • When I see Bourque's kid crying it makes me want to also

  • it's 2011 it still makes me sniffle

  • If i could hit the 6.5 button, id do it all day long

  • thank god pierre mcguire wasn't around to ruin this one "I CAN BELIEVE IT!!!!"

  • Best pass of Joe Sakic's career.

  • If the Colorado Avs keep playing like they are, the cup will be in Colorado hands once more. AND I can stop saying that the only wining team this year in Colorado has been the Rapids.

  • My wife is chopping onions again...

  • This is when I became a hockey fan for life. I started watching hockey in 2000 and 2001 I saw the stanley cup final, I saw Ray lift it and I had tears in my eye - kaboom! I was one of the handful of hockey & NHL fanatics in India! The only ice I ever see is in my vodka but I don't care. NHL for life!

  • Joe Sakic -3 i just had chills & tears

  • I'm a huge Bruins fan growing up watching Ray this was almost as good as seeing the Bruins win back in June.

  • Chills and tears every damn time I watch this.

  • Not an Avs fan, but that's incredible

  • And after 22 years RAYMOND BOURQUE!

  • I remember watching this all live on TV. It was fantastic <3

  • I'm a die hard Devils fan, but this video just makes me proud to be a hockey fan

  • Lol i was 6 when this happened and I'm a nux fan and it still gives me chills.

  • I dont find this difficult to masturbate to.

  • Best pass in Sakic's career

  • I love how Sakic practically wanted to run with the Cup to Ray Bourque, without waiting.

  • Brings a tear to the eye. Joe Sakic is a hell of a class act!

  • Def one of the classiest thing ive ever seen by a hockey captain.

  • Being a lifelong Bruins fan, that's the classiest thing I've ever seen!

  • should be called "The best moment in sports ever"

  • Comment removed

  • Just amazing!

  • Sakic didn't even want to take the picture. The first thing on his mind was Bourque. What a classy move by a very classy guy

  • If you know a thing about hockey and don't feel anything when you watch this, you have no soul.

  • @rollercoaster87 couldn't have said it better bro

  • The title says it all! Sakic is an honourable man giving Bourque the first chance to hoist!

  • soo badass....sakic is the man. what a class act. i know i said it before but got to say it again.

  • Listen to the crowd at 0:40.....

RAY! RAY! RAY! RAY! RAY! RAY! RAY! RAY! RAY! RAY! RAY!

  • I teared up. He was such a great player, and he deserved it. I remember watching it, I was so happy for him.

  • second best moment i've ever had as a bruins fan. <3

  • damn dust in my eye

  • @Garoguy12 mine too

  • one of the greatest broadcasts in sports history. i get choked up everytime i see this. unreal. joe sakic is a class act.

  • joe sakic was one of the best captains ever. he didn't even lift it over his head before passing it to ray bourque. that's class.

  • i nearly cried when i saw this

  • A true fan of hockey would have shed a couple of tears while watching this, hockey gods do exist.

  • i love how sakic did hoist it, he let ray do it. props to that

  • I'm no fan of the Avs and some of my greatest hockey memories will always be seeing Mario Lemieux eat Ray Bourque alive, but this is pretty cool. This is why hockey is the best. You will never see anything like this or feel the type of emotion it brings in any other sport.

  • Old avs were the best!

  • I am a huge bruins fan and everyone wanted ray to raise that cup we wanted ray to win

  • if you didnt cry you have no soul

  • BOO

  • @LETSGODEVILS7 fuck your life

  • hftek---- so what??? i think when it comes to hockey ray knows a little bit more then u do he KNEW that nobody in the east had a chance of beating the devils and guess what he had the chance to be traded to them he chose the aves for 2 reasons --- 1 joe sakic 2-- joe sakic

  • i'm not ashamed to say it this brings tears to my eyes every time i see it way to go joe classiest moment in sports history

  • Even as a Devils fan, who lost to them, that brought me to tears.
