I don't understand most of the positive comments here. Besides other flaws, Martinucci ignores the dynamics and destroys the aria. "vicino al sol" pppp, "un trono vicino al sol" ppp dim, last B flat pp morendo. It seems most tenors think Verdi was wrong and they can better. There is no respect for Verdi..
Non ci sono parole... senz'altro uno dei tenori drammatici più bravi....Ricordiamoci però anche di Gianfranco Cecchele un ottimo Radames e purtroppo dimenticato da tanti!!!

MUY BUENA INTERPRETACIÓN Y VOZ, PERFECTA.. Para mi la interpretación y voz magnificas y en toda la opera es el Gran Maestro F:Corelli por que su voz es de una belleza insuperable , potente y aplicada con maestría y la actuación actoral muy buena y el resultado es sublime. Ese es el parametro indicado. MARTINUCCI ESTÁ MUY BIÉN, por eso ha tenido gran éxito.
@pieritlyon la entonacion de Martinucci es deficiente. el agudo final mas de un cuarto de tono desafinado. Yo le he escuche varias veces en vivo en los 80 tanto en Munich como en Verona y en vivo la voz no le corria, era opaca y sin volumen. No entiendo las alabanzas aqui, sobre todo la de bodiloto que siempre es tan critico. al parecer ya no le funciona el oido. Nadie mejor que Corelli y Aragall en este rol. Saludos

Certainly a powerful, superior, near-flawless performance, particularly impressive as it's done live. Ideally, I'd wish for more variation rather than full strength from beginning to end, and either a crescendo or decrescendo at the end, but that's nit picking. It's a glorious thing to behold and stands just fine with no need for the criticism I just gave it!

@pieritlyon muy e acuerdo. En mi opinion Franco Corelli no tiene comparacion en este y otros roles. Corelli es el mejor spinto que ha existido.

He may ignore (or be unable to perform) the musical nuances, but Martinucci is my absolute favorite performer for this aria.
