  • it sounds real creepy too:/

  • Sounds like the siren from the mist/

  • How many calls a year does Catawba make?

  • @sabethafiredept Im not sure how many calls they have per year.

  • nice echo

  • wow that sucker is way up high

  • This siren came from Ian Murr-AKA murrfarms here on YT

  • @amberlynn6914 Yup, that's my old play-toy

  • @bulldozer950 The dual tone 2v8 is rare siren. It was not made very long because the CD did not think it was loud enough. The 2v8 that came off of this pole was a single tone.

  • Does it get used to warn of tornadoes, or is it just used to alert the employees of calls?

  • very nice siren I love the echo too

  • @Tabby266 The sterling 2v8 was on the same pole. I assume that they got the pole with the idea that the higher up the siren was the farther away it can be heard.

  • @idk6000 it's echoing nicely if you listen closely.

  • I LOOVE the echo! Great vid!

  • thats a small siren

  • is that the sterling next to it and why is the pole so large

  • no the sterling is in a storage area and I have no idea why they have such a large pole

  • wow that sounds great.. and thats a big ass pole

  • Awesome job on the install, glad to see my old siren works like a charm in service! So I take it y'all replaced the bearings and brushes in it? I know that the top bearing that was in it when I had it was shot.

  • we replaced the brushes in it but they did not want to mess with the bearings. the bearings were smooth and sounded fine when we turned it without the brushes in

  • Ah ok, sounds like it all worked out great too! I'm glad everything went well with the install.

  • What happened to the 2v8 sterling?

  • It was replaced by the Model 2.

  • No i mean where is it now. Did someone restore it and is it operational and in service somewhere else?

  • no the rotor in it fractured and can not be repaired since it is made out of magnesium

  • Great video! How many volts is it running on?

  • 120

  • Oh, because it seems to being winding up and winding down really fast, so i didn't know if it was on high voltage.

  • Damn that thing is high!

Great job man, it looks and sounds awesome!
