  • You are killer!!!!!!!!! I love the way you jump around on positions, and your intonation is beautiful! You just earned a new fan!!

  • @unionfiddler -- whoa, thanks so much!!!

  • beautiful!

  • i really like this one! where can i downloaded it? i want to keep it in my collections :)

  • I hope you will play this again someday soon!

  • Absolutely incredible violin. Such depth!

    Very nice playing too :)

  • thanks for your comment...you're right on...this was a really nice violin :D

  • you got skills

  • i'm working on it...some days it gets very frustrating...other days, i think to myself---its the violin, its supposed to be a little frustrating :D

  • You are awesome!Congatulations!Keep going!:-)

  • hi, thanks so much :D

  • es melodia esta muy genial peero me gusta mas la melodia de tzigane :)

  • my uncle is david galoustov

  • really? i've watched his videos on youtube...especially the enesco video. i just posted a couple of dances from bartok's romanian folk dances :D

  • i have a fiddle and the only indication it has to what kind it is a small engraving of the word "Wilhelm" in the center of the back at the top. Do you know if that is one of these? A man said it was to old to be a Carl Wilhem fiddle.

  • ooh kool stuff. the concertmaster at my school has a violin by Duerer.

  • wow, i know that this was a beautiful violin...very high quality as i remember it :D

  • i wish i could play violin:( but i play the trumpet instead.

  • trumpet's a cool instrument...i've tried playing it...too hard!!!

  • where can i get the music for this for free? is that how you got it?

  • i usually use sheet music that's part of this collection; it's probably available online :D

  • Hehe, you call yourself an amateur and here you are playing Wieniawski's Scherzo Tarantelle! You should be less modest eboyinc! XD and this was one and half years ago!! How old were you when you started playing?

  • i was 9 years old...considered late these days. this piece called to me...sometimes you play better when you love a piece :D

  • 9 sounds like a good age to me; if people call that late, what would they call my start? hehe. Hopeless I suppose :S sometimes feel like that is the case :( but hopefully not!

  • it was a good age for my brother and i, but we compete against the kids who started at 3...there's always someone younger, or better that gives that sense of hopelessness. i'm sure even the greats were looking over their shoulders. and in the end, so what? if you love to play, play! the obstacles are always going to surface. it's like the violin looks down on the player, daring us to try and play. i went to a piano recital; 85 y.o. woman who started at 65...she was fantastic :D

  • Hehe, yeah you're right. What seems unfair is these genius types who are playing things like the Beethoven violin concerto at 12, and it's like 'Why them and not me?' hehe, but there we are, just gotta enjoy these curiosities and not be bitter - after all, at times they must envy not having a 'regular' childhood. Today I started a practice routine that spaces the workload out nicely and has lots of breaks of a decent size - and I get the evening off! Probably play the violin anyway though lol

  • yeah i couldn't agree more! i used to envy pianists younger and more talented than me.. and i feel discouraged by it, but now, i just enjoy the music ^^

  • it's always about enjoying the music, i think :D

  • Yeah i have a neuner and hornsteiner but ive never played just a hornsteiner

  • well it sounds like you have a good violin...you also play the violin? i've been thinking of taking up the guitar.

  • Yeah.... Yep I play violin... Your a ton better though lol. Guitar yeah get a gibson or a taylor!!

  • i just saw your violin video...great! hey eveybody, check out mandolincreek...multi-talented :D

  • Thanks a ton!!! :D Ill send every 1 of my subsribers a messege about you .

  • ever played a neuner and hornsteiner?

  • i've played a couple of honrsteiners, but not a neuner & hornsteiners. the old honsteiners are great instruments.

  • Also what kind of Violin are you playing now?

  • hi, my sister and i play on old german violins.

  • what nationality are you?? we never get to see your face in any of these videos and I'm quite curious :)

  • hi, i'm american :D

  • wow your shifting is really rockin'

but i think the g string was out of tune?

    other then that: amazing!

  • nice! =D!!!!!!!!!!

  • wow very nice playing, I still practice the violin, one of the hardest instrument to play... anyway nice work :P

  • emmm....uhmmm.....coff* coff*....

    ... hi? ... =)

  • uhmmmm...your thoughts :D

  • No wait the last note is a little flat or sharp, but the whole piece and shifting is just amazing

  • Ooh Scherzo Tarantelle, I like the tranquillo part and also the big chords

  • hey thanks :D

  • hey what are the notes of the violin? and is it hard to play because it looks hard to play?

  • Five stars

    Rubens

  • You play so fast! I've been playing the violin for six month and when I see you playing I'm totally stunned ! You must play a lot... thanks for all your videos...

  • i play fast when i'm nervous. this video is old (like the bach double video)...i'm learning to slow down...it's alot easier to play the violin fast than the guitar (which you play so beautifully) :D

  • Thanks for sharing all of your vids I enjoy watching them very much

but if you don't mind me asking..

how many years have you been playing? And how long do you practice a day?

My daughter is a aspiring violinist and she would like to know what it takes to perform at your level.

  • i'm so glad you like the videos. my brother and i started about 6 years ago. we started in elementary school with the music teacher and then started taking private lessons about 5 years ago. how old is your daughter? what kind of music is she playing? please tell her that the key to improving is lots of playing. practicing the violin literature, etudes, scales etc...and i think equally important is playing for personal enjoyment...any music you love. :D

  • Well she's 15 and has been playing roughly a year but started lessons 6 months ago,I know in the books her teachers give her are a mix of folk songs and bits of classicals pieces

thank you very much for the advice i'll be sure to tell her,and the best of luck to you and your brother!

  • You sound amazing. How old are you nw? I started 2.5 years ago when I was 18. I am now 20.

  • i love ur videos (^O^)

  • thanks so much. i love doing them :D

  • Wow! I'm honored to have recieved your nice comments. You are wonderful. I'd like to see how you could make the Cheddle sing.

  • hi...it is me (or is it "I") who is honored...i have a passion for playing AND for the instruments...i'd love to play your Cheedle someday :D

  • w-i-e-n-i-a-w-s-k-i

  • You're so lucky to play all these beautiful violins! Amazing job--all of your videos. Everything you play makes the violin sound wonderful, no matter what kind. Keep up the good work!

  • yes, absolutely very lucky. thanks so much for your kind words and thanks for listening :D

  • ahh!! i sooo envy ur amazing playing skills!!!!!! i hope someday i could play like that! u rock!! XD

  • i like to think that if all the violinists out there keep practicing, we'll all end up being pretty decent in the end, lol, and least i have to hope so :D

  • You are awesome! Brava! Aren't you the best! And all those wonderful violins to play! Keep it up!, dudette! I once had an Ifshin violin and it was pretty good, but your friend's collection is awesome. You are are talented and fortunate.

  • thank you so much! i don't know about talented, but i know how lucky i am getting to play these violins :D

  • Outstanding performance!

  • Hi...thank you for your comment :D

  • Next time tune your instrument and it will sound a thousand times better. Listen to the very last chord you played, your open D/G and it's extremely out of tune.

Other than that, good work. :)

  • hi...thanks for the compliment! sorry about the tuning, but i only have a couple of minutes to search out the instrument, get it out and record the sample...this is part of a massive collection of instruments that i'm helping out with by recording these samples :D

  • I like the sound of your violin and I like how you played this piece at a slower tempo. The clarity of the notes comes out better this way.

  • hi...thanks so much :D

  • hey have you tried any of the paganini caprices? just wondering.

  • i love the paganini caprices...have studied a couple and use the rest to improve my sight reading skills...most of all, i love to listen to the caprices and recommend Soovin Kim's recent recording of them :D

  • wow, which ones? im playing no 24 on viola. im not so good at it tho but working up to it:]

  • of course, i had to do no. 1...just for fun and no. 13 because i love it...others for sight skills and curiousity...

  • lol i love them as well. i like the rabin version or the perlman version of them :] i can never play number one but i did do the first half of 13 and a little of the second half. thanks for talking. :]

  • great job playing, I dont particularly like the low strings on this one, not that much deep tone

  • you are really very good. The scherzo and tarantella is a tricky piece to play.also you have a lot of repertorio and videos-, do you have access to all those violins? I study in the Basque Region of Spain, Leioa Conservatorio, Spain, and thanks for your comments

  • thanks so much:D these violins belonged to a fine violinist who we knew and were collected over their entire life...i'm lucky to be able to sample each one. most of the pieces i'm playing i worked on in the last two years, and i should practice them before i record them, but have so little time between school and regular practice (i know that you understand this). your conservatorio is lucky to have you!

  • Very good.

Just one thing: your bow arm seems a bit stiff.

    Keep up the good work.

  • Very, very nice. I'm impressed!

  • i love this scherzo and tarantella everything is hard about it i think. even though i cant find the music for viola. wienawski is hard even remembering how to spell his name is hard!

  • Fantastic, once again!

  • i want you to do vivaldi summer thats a good one i love it

  • Hi, My brother does the Four Seasons--I'll have him record that for you. It's beautiful--I think it was the very first piece of music I ever bonded with. I listened to it over and over for months. Stil go back and listen to it now and again. My bro and I will compete Saturday for State Orchestra--see who's best! He's good--you'll enjoy his Vivaldi.

  • Very nicely done! Wieniawski's Tarantelle is a tough piece; I've played it, but not as well as you. You sound like a pro.

  • Yeah, Wieniavski is really hard. Wow!

  • this is wieniawski's tarantelle right???

this is a really hard piece... and you did a nice job

  • That was really really good!

  • Another terrific video. I've watched several of your performances; this one is top notch!

  • ur quite amazingg

=P and ur good at switching positions so well

  • You can really play. Bravo!

  • how are you

  • Very nice. Love the sound.

  • Beautifully played. This is a tough piece. I have senior violin students who could not play so well and you look quite a bit younger. Well done. Very resonant violin, too. My highest compliments on what you're doing here on your You Tube space!!!

  • You're a real talent. How old are you? Fantastique!
