7 fans. should cool that thing down pretty well. but still lags. anything above 1400x900 will lag. on fraps the benchmarking thing says im getting consistent 100 fps or above on 1920x1080 but there is a defiinitly a lag. help?

@iamgnehuy Buy another PSU before all your system goes to the moon, obviously 250 GTS requires a minimum 450W to work, and you are doing wrong.

@TheMaristBoy yes....mw2 requires a Intel Pentium 4, 1GB RAM, and a 6600GT...you might even be able to get ultra high with 60. btw pentium 4 is a 1 core cpu, so with a dual, it should run fine

@MistaSL for some odd reason, MW2 likes using vitual memory. try enabling or increasing the 'page file' located in the advanced settings of the performance window of windows.

@djb1a2k3 I'm pretty sure MW2 can be played extra high with 60fps with the crappiest of cards.

There's texture settings that lets you choose if you want ansiotropic filtering at low, normal, high, or extra. Texture filtering is set to extra, therefore, making it 'Extra High' per se.

Noobs and fanboys are the only types who think AMD CPUs and Nvidia cards don't mix. Otherwise, AMD motherboards with nForce 980 north bridges would never have been made.

GTS 250 1 GB, 4 GBs of RAM, and just about any decent CPU for gaming should be able to do 100% maxed out settings at 1080p smoothly.

Well a video card is no good as its processor, in other words if you have a good processor then your video card should run fine, if you have a crappy processor, lets say a pentium 4 at 2ghz then its probably gonna be limited

This is a BFG 1 GB GTS 250. Slightly overclocked.

Then there's stock clock. Then lower clocked ones like Green ones.

Still, the Green GTS 250 is still better than the 9800GT so it'll be good. Even at 1920x1200.

you get 60 avg because your monitor has only 60hz, i have a 9800GTX 512mb and a 75hz monitor, i get 45-75 FPS

When you are gaming, Graphics Card > Processor, always. I'd go with the HD 5750, but I suggest upgrading to maybe an HD 5770, at least. For the processor, anything above an Intel i5 will do fine.

Tomorrow I will have this card & a new 550W PSU, 4GB RAM, Vista Home Premium, Celeron D 2.8Ghz, I am pretty sure I should run the same. Regardless of the low end processor.

i recommend u to keep the gtx260 it is better despite it has 700mb ram it has better clocked memory and gpu , the 250gts is a good card, actualy a great card especially in physx but the gtx 260 is still better so u should keep the money from the gts 250 and buy an e7300 or something...( intel core 2 duo and it runs great)

My friend got dual 250, and got the beast gtx295. We tryed 3dmark vantage on both comps, my running on w7 and hes on w vista. i got around 9500 total result, and he got 10400. Thats almost 1000 more. Crysis is running around 57 fps on my, and 54 at his. The shitty thing,(the thing that i regret most) is that for two 250 it cost 2200 kr, like 250 dollars, i suppose, (im swedish) And here the 295 costs 5000 kr, around 600? dollars... so i can really recomend to buy a dual of those :)

actually i can put it on 1920x1080 and 1600x900, not sure why, but i play on a 19" hdtv rather than a simple monitor

even though 1280x720 is original for my screen, 1440x900 is the native/ideal res. ill try changing it in game instead of via nvidia ctrl panel to see if there's a diff
