pretty much, but now that he can reflect back his own flare, this isn't as much of a problem, plus there are ways to trick your opponent into falling into your traps.
funny enough tho that you can connect with The Emperor's Flare attack (the homing blue version) by means of an HP Attack to deflect it back at the emperor, and if you catch him with a brave attack to keep him from running, you can seriously turn the tide in your favor since you can either EX Burst from his HP attack (which breaks his Brv since it's his own Brv that does dmg to him, thus allowing you to further build your own brave), or just deal loads of damage, than execute your own HP Attack.
starfall spam is easily possible due to EX cores appearing on the other side of the map oftentimes (and your opponent will go for them), and the castle walls provide cover so it won't be as easy to just dash straight for emperor.
The Emperor really isn't that hard as long as you don't run into his attacks. if you're good, you can make him fall into his own traps. my advice: use Revolver Drive, Rough Divide, or Blasting Zone to destroy his orange flares, deflect his blue flares, and catch him near a blue flare you deflected, combo him, and he'll be hurt for his own brave, and vulnerable to breaking. check out one of my recent videos on my page, the 4/22 one with Squall and you'll see what i mean.
Ugh... Snooze and Lose IS irrating. Unless you can steal the opponent's BP or something, you have to keep slashing at the air to keep your BP the way it is...
Do you think you can make an Video about Revolver Drive? Showing us the JP one and the US? Then a few of us, which not played the JP Version, can't say if the Attack really so much faster... then in the Videos, it looks like the same speed... but in an Video, where both Revolver Drives are used at the same time *on a split screen ;D*, we can see and understand the changes better^^
Just curious, is the PSP screen as big as this youtube screen or smaller? Bigger? I'm just worried that I won't like the size of a PSP screen since i'm used to tv consoles.
it's a pretty big screen compared to most portable gaming systems, it's a teensy bit smaller than the youtube screen (about a centimeter smaller both ways)
Either way, the screen is great, it has adjustable brightness and everything shows up super clear. Also, if you're used to TV consoles, you can hook up a connection from your PSP to your TV and the display will show up on the television while the PSP itself acts as the controller.
whenever you do not attack for longer than 5 seconds, your brave begins to drop fairly rapidly until you attack again.
It's basically a skill that makes you fight but it can end up screwing you over because it might activate right when an enemy is attacking you, making their attacks twice as devastating or it might activate at a time when you shouldn't attack your enemy or else you'll get a beating.
Damn, I've never seen anyone dodge Starfall, that was epic.

The thing with the Emperor is your opponent can kill him with HIS OWN moves. So, you need real strategy and not just button spamming.

yup, but, still, you really need strategy when you use him

and that is why it takes serious thinking to play emperor.
so that doesn't happen to you.
He really has NO good matchups, honestly.
FFVIIIFanatic 2 years ago
maybe the worst stage for the emperor
verinenpihvi 2 years ago
actually it's one of his best...
FFVIIIFanatic 2 years ago
really? please do tell me why. i thought large, open maps were bad for the emperor.

i hate the emperor he barely does anything
Rockercor 2 years ago
no, he does alot.
His style is setting up traps and then manipulating his opponents into falling into them.
FFVIIIFanatic 2 years ago
ok so u did get the english version
Rockercor 2 years ago
....
um, what do you think?
this video is in english, lol.
FFVIIIFanatic 2 years ago
alright but i got one more question do u hav any armor on squall?
Rockercor 2 years ago
in this video, no.
In other videos, yes.
FFVIIIFanatic 2 years ago
Stationary Flare, Electric Trap, Mines for defense...
Homing Flare and Snooze and Lose to keep the opponent busy while breaking your defenses...
And Starfall to taunt/lure them to you and your traps... or get hit by the Starfall itself w/c is almost always hits.
Seems a pretty clear equation to me =)

squall wins.

Ok thanks, Yeah I did order the composite cable for the 3000. I wasn't sure how well it is going to turn up. I'll know by tomorrow. Thanks.

Close ending. So what did they change about revolver drive?
Omnislasher5 2 years ago
it starts up way faster than it did in JP dissidia and it also runs and turns smoother than it did.
If those upgrades weren't present in this video, I probably wouldn't have hit with it.

Woa, awesome finish. xP
What does 'Snooze and Lose' do btw?
