i think i'd much rather have one of these than a cooper s or a gti. it's more expensive, granted. i can't hardly believe that a cooper s is faster, but i haven't driven either, so... anyway, tune it up a lil, and get aftermarket suspension. then at that point you'd wish this thing was awd. i wish they'd made it awd...better in the winter then, too. and i'd say put a bench in the back so i can fit 5 people if i wanted/needed. looks/sounds like a dec car, tho.

@medow006 Well you can get this version the R-Design, up to about 36K, you can get a Mini up to 52K with all the options, so the Volvo is quite a bit chaper.

@medow006 More expensive? Ha! You can get a BASE Min up to 60K if fully speced and with the same stuff you can only get a C30 up to about 36K. But it is a good little car, and a great looking one too!

For looks I think C30, and for how good they are I can only take facts and others' opinions, as I've driven neither. And price is another consideration. And I think they should offer an AWD C30.

We got a 2.0D R-Design one of these in White, and I must say, its a lovely car, looks great, it goes pretty well, quiet on the motorway, i'd recommend one to anybody

I got the C30 1.6D Drive. But its chiptunned to 145 hp and the 300nm. I love the handling of the car. Way better than my old VW Golf5 1.9 TDI. The TDI is a bit quicker compared to the stock C30 but is thats because of the gears. The G5 is at 3k rpm @ 140. The C30 at 160. C30 is also very silent where the golf is already noisy at 130 kph. In the C30 i can drive 180 without to much noise.

I personally think its a brilliant car.

What all must understand is that this car is heavier, safer, quieter, more comfortable, and it is still right there for price and performance. Also, those of you wanting to add aftermarket exhaust will be much more pleased with the sound. No rice bowl here.

You can get a (unfortunately non functioning) hood scoop as an option if you want it to look a bit more aggressive, and it probably wouldn't be hard to make it at least semi functional.

I have the c30 2.0 turbo diesel (grey matching body kit with 18's) & it is a really good car to drive.

Bad things are boot,boot shelf, 4 seats & acess to rear seats is terrible.

Good things are engine (great turbo build sound) very torquey, understated looks, vision out of the car.

Still The civic type R iv just bought - for similar money i think is much better. Im not a fan of this car is standard trim - niether the civic, but splash some cash on them and they look very nice

I am sorry I guess I didn't explain as good as I should of. The power seat of my S-60 Volvo cut my Wifes I-Pod in half. Because there is no shield that keeps hands or items from falling into the gearing. This could be a potential problem, and i am trying to get Volvo to reconize it. I love my Volvo but I really don't want anyone to lose there hands or mine for that mater. Volvo needs to do something about this I hope you understand.

Don't buy a volvo expecialy if you have kids i own a 01 S-60 Volvo I love the car but i also intend to keep my hand and my kids intact so i will be getting rid of it because the power seat has no pertection example my wife 60 Gig Ipod Fell Between the seat and the console when i went to get it i lifted the set put my hand down there metel cut my hand and broke the ipod almost in half what if that was my hand
