There's only one willie carson(8) lol this isn't a very good list :) and the jockeys i consider to be great are not jockeys that rode one horse to win alot of times (like mike smith) they are jockeys that win on different horses over different distances, a jockey like mike smith just got lucky with a great horse.
What about Fred Archer? He was famous in my country. A great great jockey. Gordon Richards was another good one. Lester Piggot also. Willie Shoemaker (we used to call him the Shoe) was also as famous as Fred from where I come from. Mike Smith must be OK also. He keeps on winning - Zenyatta Drosselmeyer.

Pat Valenzuela has as much talent as any jockey I've seen, too bad he couldn't stay away from Mr. Snowman. Bill Hartack, Eddie Arcaro, where's Johnny Longden? Oh well, its just a list.

No Ron Turcotte? He had over 3000 wins before career cut short in 1978, won back to back Derby's and Belmont Stakes as well as 2 Preakness stakes, not to mention was selected to ride Secretariat over any other rider due to his fierce competitiveness.
