  • one your not cutting right two thats a full katana

  • @manufacturedfracture three, you have no idea what you are talking about . As a collector and swordsman I own dozens of swords and am quite knowledgeable on the various styles, lengths and characteristics of Japanese style swords. The length if this blade is 20 and 3/4s inches, making it a wakizashi.

  • @Jeeperrandy that looks much longer than 20" but it may just be me

  • @Jeeperrandy At first glance of the tsuka length and shape of the kissaki, it looks more like a ko-katana than a wakizashi to me. Any stamps on the nakago as to origin or smith?

  • @ThePaganBorn .Japanese blades are measured by units calla shaku, which is about 11.93" or 30.30 cms. A blade longer than one shaku but less than two is considered a shōtō (short sword). The wakizashi and kodachi ( ko-katana) are in this category with the wakizashi having a single hand tsuka while the ko-katana has a grip length suitable for two hands, like it's full-sized counterpart. This sword has a 21" blade and a 7" tsuka, putting it in the category of Wakizashi

  • @Jeeperrandy I'm well aware of the measurement system my friend. I've been studying Japanese history for many years, particularly the Samurai class and their weapons. Having not actually held the blade, I could not accurately judge tsuka length, but the kissaki appearance is more like a katana than most wakizashi I have seen.

  • Respond to this video... It has no markings on the nakago. It is a cheap eBay wak.

  • he who hesitates cuts up

  • Ugh....ebay longquan swords...lol.

They can kill a bottle, but can't cut mats!!

  • what are the other folded steel swords in your collection or is that the only one ?

  • I have a folded steel katana of unknown make, and I had a Katsumoto dragon, also folded steel.

  • Awe man, looks like you felt that all the way up to your shoulder.

Is that one supposed to be DH?

  • No, it's through hardened.

  • lol that was the most awsomest sword EVER!!!

    nice one randy...

  • Looks like a butter knife. Which one of the e-bayers did you get this from?

What is the rest of it like?

  • Nice blade , nice tsuka. I will refit it with better quality fittings and it will be a great waki. ( and i'll sharpen it too)

Full review and details are posted at the sites mentioned in the video info box.

  • Oh, you got it from tckruan88. I also bought a katana from this e-bayer. Randy, I'm mrkrinkle on SBG.
