Can't stop crying, what is it about Ocean Liners that when they sound their horn just makes me cry. What a very thoughtful video and tribute to OUR QE2 wish we could bring her home.
Such a gorgious ship, love the fact that this is one of the few videos where you can distincly hear her siren. Not her horn, but that high pitched scream of a siren that only a true Atlantic Ocean Liner has! Excellent tribute!
The only error, and it is quite a big error, is in the opening title shot where you call the star of the show the Queen Elizabeth II. This is very very incorrect. It is the Queen Elizabeth 2. There is a world of difference. QEII would mean the ship was named after the (current) monarch - which it very much isn't, while QE2 would mean that it is the second ship called the Queen Elizaberh - which is what it is. Sorry about mentioning this, but it does grate me!
@Aaron1912 Is correct say that is QE II if you refer the position of the liner, that is the second ship with the name Queen Elizabeth... However if you refer to the name of the ship you must say QE2 (Queen Elizabeth two). We dont read the name "Queen Elizabeth the second"... For read "Queen Elizabeth the second" the name should be QEII or QE2º (2º-second # 2-two).
You did her proud with that tribute! I loved QE2. I was onboard coming into Southampton in the morning of the 11th. When we hit the sandbank! Rushed to Hythe in the afternoon to see her depart. I was freezing cold all day, had to be - not to miss anything. What a day!!
The end of an era is sad be it Ocean Liners or of a golden era such as the 20's - It is called progress - sometimes I wonder, we seem to be on self-destruck from where I am.....Great Posting~! Five Stars to you...
I was in Southampton to see this great lady make her final departure. People were moved to tears as this, the last of the great liners, began to move slowly away down Southampton Water. It was a very sad occassion indeed and the end of an era. I wish QE2 all the very best in her retirement and hope that she contiues to delight people for decades to come
I was in Southampton also..I came in on the Queen Mary 2 ...The QE 2 was ahead of us...I looked out of my suite and There she was, silhouetted in the morning sun..it was amazing. I don't like today....I love the past..
The QE2 is leaving, is sad a piece of History disapear like that, I think Cunard should make the RMS QE2 Hotel. Mantein this ship is very expensive because is a old ship and need many materials. Now is comming the new ship of Cunard, The RMS just Queen Elizabeth. I dont like this names, but is just my opinion, they do want they want. For me Cunard tradition was lost in 1930...
A truly wonderfully taken video; but a very sad occasion. I loved the look of the QE2.She was also capable of going much faster than the normal cruise liner;because of the atlantic crossing. Thank you so much for going to all this trouble. A fabulous video!!

I simply used Roman numerals instead of basic numbers.
Aaron1912 2 years ago
I'm afraid to say that, in this context, they are not interchangable. Roman numerals does NOT refer to the ship being portrayed.

The first thing of QE2 that I saw was the word 'Cunard' on her port side. I believe those titles have now been removed in Dubai.
