  • I agree! The pedestals are overpriced. Smart move on the manufactures part. Let's sell our washers a little cheaper and then make up for it by selling overpriced pedestals. I have that exact same pedestal for my Duet from 7 yrs ago, and I wondered if/when I get a new front load washer, if the current pedestal I have will even work with the new one, even if it's a whirlpool.

  • Nice simple vid of how to save $200.00 and I appreciate it very much! I have the EXACT same washer which replaced my old Whirlpool with the same exact base you have. I am going to perform the surgery tomorrow on the old base so I dont have to spend the $200.00 for a Samsung base AND I dont even have to search for a scratch and dent special. I already have it, lol!

Im usually good at figuring out fixes like this, but this saved me time and effort!

Thanks for saving me a chunk of change brother!

  • Good job

  • Screw the trolls on this vid...I've had my fair share on my own vids as well...

That being said, nice job on the pedestals...I'm going to just build my own out of 2x6's and 3/4" ply. :-)

  • Thanks ,so much,Ivebeen scratching my head on how to use my oldpedestals on my new lg washer.I guess it still works fine .My wife had been complaining anddjust ask me today if Ihadmove the washer ,I said no,after attempting to use the bathroom on the backwaal against thewasher during a heavy load spin cycle I knew it was muchmore serious issue than I thought. It sound like freight train coming through the wall and literally scared the s--- out of me .Im fixing it today.

  • good job!

  • this is MultiMediaMafia, to everyone commenting I no longer have access to this account due to youtube wanting you to have a google account to get in and also your personal cell phone number. anyway I'm going to answer some of your comments from my plasticstuntmancom channel.

  • I give this guy respect because i refuse to drop 400 on some damn pedestals...do what you can to save a buck

  • @greenc51 Hi friend. yes in this day and age and economy we have to do what we can. but like you I wouldnt pay that anyway if I had the extra to toss away. ignorant people who think we should just keep on spending are the exact reason our economy is in the trouble it is in now. most of them spend money they dont have. they are close to a hard lesson. I no longer have access to this account so I am using another account to answer you. thanks for your comments :)

  • Pathetic......

  • @MrTonyblunt what is pathetic is people who go around bad mouthing others in order to make themselves feel better because of their inferiority complex :) have a nice day.

  • You can tell the attitude of the older people and the younger people. older people think of ways to save money.. younger just buy and think about paying later.. if something breaks they throw it away and get a new one, a older guy will try and fix it...I made my own pedestals and you cant tell there not metal unless you touch them.. The LG attachmant kit was 40.00 to properly attach the washer to the pedestal.. is it fasten and stable, probably stronger then the metal pedestals

  • @Rick31797 wow that sounds interesting. love to see some video or pictures. if you post any let me know but send it to me at my other account plasticstuntmancom on youtube because I dont have acces to this one any more. thanks for the info and comments.

  • @Rick31797 I wonder in samsung makes a kit like that? but then i'd have to build another pedistal to go with it.

  • @plasticstuntmancom I would imagine they all have attachment hardware.. it makes everything stable when they are firmly attached together

  • I bought a new front load washer and dryer and also refused to spend 450.00 for both pedestals, you know when the manufacturer, designed these, they decided they could make a few million more by designing the washer lower and selling the pedestals as an option, they will says it cuts the weight down.. so i decided to make my own, having a woodworking shop , i also curved the front to match the washer/dryer..Huge drawer in it. i just need to buy the attachment kit for 40.00.. looks works good..

  • @Rick31797 your absolutely right. I have a feeling the haters on this video might be in the appliance industry cuz that guy who said it would damage the washer is loopy. the washer in the video has been going for over a year no problems at all. it's all about ripping someone off for more cash. they should be included with the machine.

  • I just think it took him way too long to get to the piont. Not a bad idea tho.

  • @pimpi777 Hi friend, yea I tend to talk alot, sorry I took so long...MMM :)

  • Your still a tight ass with your money grampa let go of the wallet you can't take the doe with you once you drop dead ass-whole..I still say your wife must look ragged as hell married to a tight ass like yourself.

  • @Taxminia0311 you seem to have a hatred for women & a real weird fixation on my rear end..I like to save money because I don't have someone handing it over to me, it's has to be WORKED for...something you dont seem to have any experience at. maybe things will be different when your sugar daddy quits giving you money to spend.

  • Good for you. Enjoy the $200 you saved!

  • @icarress thank you :)

  • Very clever and well thought out. It makes me wonder how many of the pedestals get sold to ppl to "fix" the vibration issues from not removing shipping bolts. It also seems to me that the 2x4s will add some damping for any vibration that may be present. Thanks for sharing your ingenuity.

  • @demolishun2 yes the washer runs great and no vibration issues at all. yes the shipping bolts may be an issue in that pedestal rip off as well. I no longer have access to this account so I am answering you from another one. thanks for commenting :)

  • why is there so much anger over a man saving several hundred dollars on something people should not have to spend that knid of money on anyway? great vid MultiMedia an ingenious way to keep some much needed cash in your own pocket

  • @belariusrites hi friend, thanks for your comments. I am answering you from another account because I cannot access this one any more.

yet it just makes me wonder about people. I mean I'm not going around telling people what they have to spend their money on. some of these people seem like they got a sugar daddy to buy everything for them :)

  • OMG, Do it already! great idea but I believe you could of condensed this video to about 30 seconds

  • @snakedaddyvince hey, sorry it irritated you so much, I was just trying to be thorough. yes it could have been shorter probably.

  • it works but my response is i didn't pay $800 in order to have it look Mickey mouse...i too, had the mismatched washer and pedestal, and will think of something else

  • @wizardoflawz you can build your own pedestals to match. search youtube for built ones. I have seen a few nice looking ones.

  • it looks like ass.

  • awesome

  • Thanks for the tip. I just purchased the same washer this weekend. Looking for a stand myself. Ignore the rude comments, you are appreciated, thank you.

  • Nice work mate.

  • @melindasmithaus thanks friend, I appreciate the comment :)

  • @Darrenhuseby thanks very much friend. I tried anyway :)

  • Oh yes, thank the Lord...

  • @Taxminia0311 LOL...you got nothin better to do than this? how pathetic. an ignorant person and his money are soon parted my friend...so I guess you are broke.

before you come back to insult me further please remember this...arguing over the internet is like competing in the special olympics...even if you win, youre still retarded.

  • @Taxminia0311 It's called being thrifty, Dip shit! Not everyone is Daddy Warbucks like you. Some people don't have the kind of income where they can just throw money around like it was growing on trees. No doubt, you're under 40 years old and think the whole world is made of candy and money.

  • @MrSlikvee thanks for your comment friend, I appreciate that. i no longer have access to this account so I am answering thru another account.

yes I would assume this jerk is probably some 18 year old who has had the whole world handed to him on a silver platter by his rich daddy and never done a real days work in his entire life. the way things are going he'll be getting an unwanted education soon tho :)

    thanks again..MMM

  • You cheap mug! It's voids your warranty plus it's going to vibrate like crazy..Was it really worth it??? No! Wait till they go on sale.. or just spend the extra.. it may work for one or two wash loads.. then your going to gripe and moan and groan because your unit does not work right.. because you tried to save a buck or two.. seen it done a thousand times...Beware!!! - a 15 year appliances sales person!

  • @forgotmypassword328 ahhh yes, the used car dealer of the appliance world giving advice...LOL

FYI the washer is running fine...for months now. It cannot void my warranty because nothing on the washer was modified. It's the same as if I built stands from wood, that would not void my warranty either.

methinks thou likes to sell OVER priced accessories at the expense of the working man. your opinion is your own, but in this case means less than nothing. thanks for stopping by :)

  • Love your workaround. Glad you didn't listen to the nay sayers. Next time you have to lift that beast, check out forearm forklifts. I got mine at a local hardware store for about $15 and they make it way easier to lift

  • @savingface78 hey thanks for the tip on the forearm thingys LOL...I watched a demo of them on youtube, great way to lift. you can get them on ebay for about half of local shipped from japan or china I think.

now I am thinking I could have bolted schedule 40 pvc pipe caps to the unit (already white) and not have to paint them...oh well, it works anyway :)

  • This is the first time that I've seen one of these. Here in the UK our washing machine sit straight on the floor, but I have to say I prefer this idea of jacking it up higher, and then you have the storage space underneath for power/liquid etc. Thanks for shareing...

  • @spannernuts I started to leave ours on the floor but it would be hard on my back bending over...Im getting old not, almost 47, and the back is stiffening up...need more exercise I guess.

If you havent already done so you can watch a video here on YT where I guy builds a stand for his washer & dryer out of 2x4's and plywood...he did a nice job too...but no drawers underneath...just looks like a coffee table with washer/dryer on it :)
