There should be a setting for it. But, on the DVX's i THINK it only does a "diet" 16:9. By that I mean its a 4:3 but fixed and warped to look 16:9. Not sure though.
I have a dvx, if you go into the scene file settings there is a mode setting where you can set it to either normal, or uhm....letterbox, and then squeeze. Letterbox will give you 4:3 letterboxed. But squeeze will give you 16:9 and it looks gorgeous. Check out my video to see waht it looks like.
the original dvx100 not a or b model does not have a squeeze mode. only a letterbox mode. which takes your 4:3 aspect ratio and places black bars on the top. it will play back correctly on a 4:3 television but will not play properly on a 16:9 television unless you resize it in post at the cost of resolution. essentially it's just a matte that gives 4:3 footage a 16:9 scope.....
Nice dude, not sure if this was like an inside joke or anything but it was still very good. keep it up and make some more videos. Very Nice effects, send me more!

Call this an unfair generalization, but young film makers are pretentious blow hards with NOTHING to say.

Did you shoot in 16:9 or 4:3? Bc it looks a little stretched.

i filmed it in 4:3 and stretched it. i'm not sure how to shoot a regular 16:9 on a DVX without buying the anamorphic lens adaptor...anyone know?
