I live in Japan. They deny god here, yet I can lose my wallet anywhere and have it returned despite the lack of a mythical deterrent such as hell. And the divorce rate among evangelicals is much higher than for non-believers. No evidence of god's power there.

Perhaps the Americans can thank their stars or "God" that they don't have half the supersonic suicide rates of Japan. Or that they did'nt get their butts kicked in WW2 as bad as Japan.
OOOhh..and btw, I thought Japan / Nippon was a Shinto Buddhist dominated nation. Are you sure you live in Japan or is it an Athiest North Korea ?

Japan for it's smaller size and popln. seems to be riddled with many of it's social problems as well :
Gakyuu Houkai (Out of control classrooms in secondary and elementary schools) , Incivility in Public Places
(Train manners, mobile phone manners, etc)
Ijime (school bullying); Juvenile Crime
Abuse, Domestic Violence;Stalking, Assault, Rape; Suicide Pacts; Murder(Thrill killings, stalking victims, classmates etc);Futoko" ("school refusal"), Parasite adults who burden parents.

So what do you think the incarceration rates for Japan are compared to the US considering all the "social problems" you've mentioned.
This data will tell you just how powerful the christian god is.
After you realize the answer, you can either convert to either the real god of Buddhism (just a nominal identity here), or the intellectual honesty of atheism. You're choice.
But don't defend an ineffectual god. It would be dishonest and a self-deception.

One more way to detect the power of god is to examine the coherency of the arguments of persons who claim they possess the spirit of that god. Here's one. "Japan got their asses kicked by the US in WW2, so the god of the US is real." -> "(a) got their asses kicked by (b) in (c), so the god of (b) is real." How else might we instantiate this argument? It is clearly incoherent. The spirit of the god of this person is clearly not leading them into truth, hence that god does not exist.

A). I am NOT a Christian. I'm Jewish American with a fervent admiration for Christianity. So, converting into a Buddhist is outta the question. besides, "The real god of Buddhism" ??? LOL...I bet Christians have a MORE REAL GOd than a starving Indian fakir with a funny hairdo !
B). If Japan is so great, why can't it ever surpass the Christian west ( USA, Ger) in terms of Scientific & Technological powress. Most of what Japan has today, was invented in the Xtian West !

For its size and population, despite being a monoracial nation ( all this means less natural risk factors than a overpoulated, large diverse, multi-racial nation like the USA0. Japan or Nippon does have it's huge share of complex myriad social problems.
USA treats it's blacks much better than how the Japanese treat the aborginals of Hokkaido and Northern Honshu !
I've been to Japan and can Speak fluent Japanese too genius !
