That's ok. Obviously she can play it well it's just this piece needs to mature with time. I'm sure she playes it differently now as anyone would "growing" with the piece. I would say bravo to her.
as a professional pianist I have to say watching you grow up and blossom in 4 minutes is wonderful.your playing is full of colour.you listen hard and Im sure some of the teachers at the Moscow or Paris conservatoire would love to have you as their pupil.some of these people remember are not talking professionally.sound and colour and an understanding of the composer all go together.and you have them all.I wish you much luck in your career.Chad(Jason) ok
This "young girl" was 23 at the time, and her performance is fine. The way she handled the opening is a matter of personal interpretation, and there is no one "correct" way to play it. The recording technology is primitive at best, though.
If you look at her playing she is not playing loud at all in the beginning. The camera mic has an autogain feature which is designed to try and keep speech intelligable at any level. This destroys music. There is no way to even guess what her actual tone variety and dynamic range where, without just watching how her arms are striking the strings. I would love to hear this person again with some decent sound. She actually gets the rhythms right, unlike Horwitz in his video.
The soft sounds are recorded with hi-gain, and the loud sounds have extreme compression and distortion. For proof: extract and look at the audio file. It will be mostly blown out. During forte passages you will see greater density of waveform WITHOUT larger peaks. Bad video camera mics, and internet compression are the cause.
Maristela, may I suggest making a small investment of time and money into recording if you are planning on sharing more great work with the world?
Heard the audio and my impression is the same. It's not a real pp. Also, it's very important to listen to a long sound dying away and not play the next note louder (except for a deliberate surprise). The quaver into bar 2 interrupts the mood abruptly instead of blending in mysteriously. I'm only being critical because there is a lot of very good playing later on. You have to set the mood early though. I nearly didn't watch the rest.
Sorry, but the start is massively overplayed. It's not supposed to be loud for ages. It needs a kind of ominous intensity within the soft level, but just playing it loudly spoils it. I don't think the mike helps, but it goes much softer in other places here so it's definitely the playing. The 2nd half is considerably better playing, but it would have more impact if it hadn't already been loud.
great performance
very thanks
love the extra gain ~ the chords overflow and and the 'melody' screams out
Scri's later piano music is way above th limits of the piano.. "the new the new, always the new"
check out Szidon's 7th with some distortion....

Jesus, turn the mic gain down a bit or move them a little further away from the piano. I can't tell if you're putting emotion in or not.

It's fine, I can tell you're totally into the piece and you seem to have gotten most of the notes correct. Good playing! Just watch out for the mics

Thanks! The piece is very difficult according to Horowitz.

This piece is not meant for such a young girl. I'm sorry, she may be talented, but she can't play it.

Sorry, but you can hear a number of very soft sounds in the opening. It's clearly not the mike.

god, this song is so hard to play with the constant change in tempo and harmony

Amazing! It's too bad the sound is distorted. It sounds like the camera's mic was overloading enev at the beginning.
