  • where do you get the foil?

  • very complicated

  • wheres the result. if you dont add the result we can't know if its fake or not

  • @mikie72956 what are you talking about? I open all electronics on my desk and never have problems?

  • is it worth that trouble?

  • SWEEEEET!!! now i dont need to buy a Alienware m11x

  • yeah, i just got a 13 inch unibody aluminum macbook pro and i am definatley NOT risking ruining it. although its sick to have a different colored keyboard, i doubt applecare will cover this kind of "mistake." Plus i would much rather just get a keyboard cover to make it colored.

  • does the 17 inch and 15 inch have a backlit keyboard?

  • @sahab999 it depends on the model

The easiest way to check should be the three backlit keys F8 (shout down the backlit) F9 (less backlit) F10 (more backlit).

If these keys ain't on your keyboard, you don't have backlit.

  • @sahab999 they shud have em

  • Perhaps you could've shown a few shots of the blue-backlit keyboard in action??

  • i have the unibody macbook 2.4. i started taking it apart then had second thoughts and put it back together. it wont start like at all, no fans, cd drive, nothing. any fix?

  • This would be something I would try on a G4 powerbook that I bought used before risking it on my unibody Macbook!!!!! I would be afraid on ruining the Macbook plus voiding Applecare.

  • well i was lucky enough to fly in under the applecare radar and they fixed it :D so im clear and NEVR trying this again

  • you probably shorted out the circuts inside

if it is still under warrenty you can take it to the apple store (if there is no water or drop dammage) and say it just stopped working (dont tell them you took it apart) and they might try to fix it

  • you may have shorted it. try grounding yourself next time and report to apple, say you were replacing the harddrive which is covered by the warranty (i believe, check online first) because its in the user's guide (i know that, i have a 17" macbook pro unibody)

  • Genius.

  • @insanespad45 shouldnt of took it apart then

  • @insanespad45 hahahahaha, burn my friend.

  • @insanespad45 ok bud you never take part any electronic equipment, ESPECIALLY your prized ones and ones that are dear like your computer, i am A+ cert, and i still am careful and at time doubtful, so i dont try till my comfort level is backed up by knowledge. and the one thing you NEED and anti static wrist strap man. i mean really? but i guess people like you is what keeps us in work and money in our pocket for fixing peoples fuck-ups..lol please dude dont attempt outside your comfort level.

  • @mikie72956

Why do you have to be a jerkoff? Just answer the kids question. I am an Apple Certified Mac Technician. There can be multiple issues but one you can try to do yourself is to reset the PMU (Power Management Unit).

After that you would have to have a ACMT look at it.

  • @mikie72956 wrist strap for the win ha

  • @insanespad45 my guess is that the keyboard and the off/on button isn't connected.

  • does the 12" model have a backlit keyboard ?

  • no!

  • is it aluminum foil im not sure where you get the foil

  • It's a simple colored foil. Bought it on ebay for like 5$.

It's not heating up or something! The cooling system is made by a genius!

  • Why you use Windows Movie Maker?

    Use iMovie!

  • Ohne weiteres ist dies nicht möglich. Man müsste wahrscheinlich irgendwoher eine Stromversorgung bekommen, aber ich bin kein Fachmann und kann deshalb keine Auskunft geben.

  • translation: Easily this is not possible. One would have to get a current supply probably somewhere, but I am not a specialist and can therefore no information give.

  • and considering youre using WMM......

  • I would have to buy an extra keyboard from ebay to try this, my luck I would break the keyboard. LOL.

  • You should sell those ... like have people send in their laptops and you change the colors... i bed youd do good

  • Would you ship your Powerbook or MacBook Pro to a foreigner (next point is I am living in Germany)

  • Funny how this was made on Windows Movie Maker

  • haha

  • LMAO, i was about to post comment saying that, this guy is a pro noob

  • To be fair, it's probably because he didn't feel like screwing everything back together before posting it. :-p

  • yea, chances are that might've been his only mac at the time

  • pretty cool, I might have to look into this once I've bought my MBP... thanks for the video!
