  • Very frightening... but beautiful in a sense. =]

  • IronMan.......first starts are always a little nerve wracking.......but we minimize stuff that can go wrong by belting up first and checking for governor action and such. The MAIN thing to know BEFORE starting is......how to shut it down!

  • Scarey...don't know if I would want to be next to that beast when it decided to wake up for the first time...LOL

  • Getting the cover off the stack would have been a good thing to do before starting. That guy climbing made me nervous.

  • When I was a kid our neighbor started his old B JD but forgot to take the bean can off the exhaust--ended up with 3 stitches in his head when he also forgot to look where it was coming down---ouch!!

  • Loose parts isn't the word for it douro20.

There is much more about that Mogul at my website: andersonofrosholt where I have a page dedicated to it.

This stupid thing won't let me paste a hot link........GRRRRRRR

  • Wasn't this thing built up almost entirely of loose parts?

  • where i work we have a mogul 25 hp at 400 rpm it is about the same size as this but i can start it on my own with no pony motor just with my hands

  • @tylersfarms That is a 1912 model. It's a transition tractor built between the end of the 45hp and 60hp Mogul tractors. Some parts have the later 30-60 part numbers.

  • Yeah and those "old monsters" could be

stubborn & balky right at the very time

you needed them most, but its what was

    available, and EASIER THAN HORSES!

  • That sound is just AWESOME!

Could hear it the whole day...want one!

  • whats the pony engine?

  • Hit and miss starting engine...

  • We sold IHC when I was growing up - my Granddad used to tell me about these old monsters.

There at about 1:07 I kept saying "come on baby... come on baby" to myself over and over - I couldn't help it.

By the way - be sure to remove the old beer can from the exhaust pipe before the engine lights off :-)

  • That was the real deal too. A little fine tuning and a good glug of priming gas to the rear cylinder makes it a real easy starter.
