  • Gordon Brown was very, very underrated. I don't think he was a brilliant leader, but he was a BRILLIANT politician, and the press in this country never gave him a chance.

  • @WerdnaLlewen1993 The problem with politics is that you don't need brilliant politicians, you need brilliant operators and managers. Being a brilliant politician just means you climb to the top of the greasy pole faster than everyone else. The country doesn't need people like that running the treasury or other department. We need professionals.

  • fuck the government. fuck the conservatives. you treachorous fiends will be dealt with .

  • As much as people hate labour and gordon brown.....atleast he actually did something for normal people and lower classes, yes maybe it got the country into debt, but its a lot better for lower classes than the fucking conservatives are doing, conservatives are for the rich and upperclass, and we all know theres not many rich or upperclass people in this country.

  • Most high schoolers are more mature than this

  • Politicians seem to spend far much more time trying to humiliate their opponent than focusing on something productive

  • Cameron needs to go on HIGNFY. Judging on this he's be hilarious.

  • House Of Commons> U.S House Of Representatives

  • i never realised this was teh bullshit that went on in the house of commons... im embarassed. they should be discussing and coming to good decisions instead of trying to get 1-up on eachother

  • fuck off gideon you wanker

  • David Cameron is a twat

  • Jesus Christ these guys are so immature!

  • Always nice to see your elected representatives kicking off like a bunch of drunk blokes in a comedy club.

  • Labour is the way to go......how can other people not think this????

  • does Britain have an inheritance tax...???...how much is it????

  • I love it how the politicians in Britain have so much fun during a parliamentary debate! :-D

  • brown a bit confused with his blue tie?

  • They remember Rajoy and Zapatero.

  • This is so hilarious. Ah, politicians. The biggest children of us all.

  • and these people are in charge of the country

  • @jackasassin

At least they pay attention to the speeches! In Brazil they couldn't care less, they don't even pretend to be interessed in anyway whatsoever! Damm, they don't even remain seated, they just stroll around making deals...

  • I don't know how politics there works, but we all swedes love to hear that parliament anytime

  • "Mr. Speaker, the big question this week is can we believe what the Prime Minister says?"

Harriet Harperson shakes her head. LMFAO!!!

  • no idea what they talk about but this is very funny i just understand: Yeeeeee and hahahaha

  • @ponygtx lmao

  • I'm not actually sorry, in America "I'm sorry" is a phrase we sometimes use in a sarcastic way to mean "You know what..."

    so it could've been

You know what, British Politics is a joke

  • @8231mim

We are the oldest Parliamentary Democracy in the World. America may become Democratic one day. Lest you forget George.W Bush's second election; shameful.

  • @codownni Iceland.

  • @NorceCodine

    Is irrelevant.

  • @codownni Thats exactly what the Germans say about the UK.

  • @NorceCodine

We showed the Germans how much we agree with their opinions. Germany may be strong economically now, but their presence and relevance in Geo-politics is about as important as the failure that is Iceland.

  • Look at Osbourne's piggy smirking little face...

  • i'm sorry but british politics is a joke

  • @8231mim Why are you sorry? I'm British and the hilarious joke that is British politics is the only entertainment we Brits are getting right now!

  • @8231mim emancipate these nuts!

  • Brown sucks. They ran him off rather quickly. Leftist always suck and never take responsibility.

  • @Patriot751 'It's all Labour's fault' sound familiar? yeah because your toff of a leader can also take responsibilty rather well for his actions and faux-pas can't he?

  • Could someone tell me if this "debating" causes contention outside of the parliament? Or is it like here in the USA; where the different sides pretend to opposed during campaigns, but once elected, the lines between the right and left dissolves. Our Congress is constipated in comparison.

  • What do the people in the back even do? xD

They are just like back up vocals when ever one of them sit down xD

  • Go on Gordon! SLAP HIM! >:0

  • @dneirflriGsedaW ....you week minded fool....guess you got it all Under New Labour...

  • @pogsboo Never heard of 'Week' minded. ;)

  • What the fuck are they getting up to over there? I love England.

  • Cameron: "Can we believe what the Prime Minster says?"

0:05 Harried Harman, Deputy Labour leader "No. No. Noo"

  • looks like an episode of little britain lol

  • la camera dei comuni è il vero tempio della politica e del liberalismo costituzionale......

  • Is this from the movie Idiocraty ? :D

  • Hey, from France this seems amazing :D

  • wow im from germany and never thought that the british government is so primitive

  • @Gool349 You Germans have funny ways of saying FUN!

  • @Gool349

I cant speak for modern German parliament because I cant find footage of it, but I know this kind of Parlimentary debating is common in many countries

  • i've got to admit "he's the only Prime Minister in history to flunk an election because he thought he was going to win it" that was a good one

  • What do you mean 'Really' I note your comment conveniently does not acknowledge that what I said about Thatcher is true, typical tory, look after yourself, as long are your own personal taxes are low, and your company taxes are low. Thatcher did more social harm to the moral and well being of the electorate than Adolf Hitler could manage. Have you not realised that the majority of the UK DON'T WANT tories in power and remember they are there by default even now. Next election they'll be out.

  • this is all very entertaining and in some ways commendable that we have open political discussions in this country, but the thing is im not sure how many people actually watch this week in week out for it to mean any thing. even if you do watch it ur reluctant to believe what they're sayin. most of it is juvenile posturing and oneupmanship...its not politics, it's theatre! theatre that no ones watching, and those that do watch aren't convinced by the actors performance! their's no point!

  • @rozza12320 I'm starting to think that the whole point of it is for MP's to let off steam I agree it doesn't achieve a thing!

  • And these idiots are allowed to run the country

  • The USA needs this straight forward ACCOUNTABILITY with all of our elected officials.. No matter what party you are.

  • To think we pay these arses to work in this manner, no wonder the country is in the state it's in. These guys run the country and unfortunately they have hundreds of thousands of followers who can't think independantly and believe every words they say.

  • @daviegarden

This is the political system. It has always been the case. The country is in dire straits because of Blair and Brown and New Labour and the squandering of our growth years.

  • @lobbotekka2019 Listen, I've lived through the Thatcher years. That woman and her policies decimated the UK. As soon as she was in power she sacked i.e. over 2 million council direct labour workers, 'helped herself' to millions from the UK teachers and lecturer's pension fund (Ala Robert Maxwell). Brown and Blair's efforts were sabotaged by tory bankers bankrupting the banks on a tory promise to get taxpayers money.

  • @daviegarden

Really?? So even though Labour was in power and allowed the banks to run the country into the ground it is the fault of the TYories (who were not in power)?? Good excuse. Also, who destroyed the private sector and crippled manufacturing, technology, Oil and Gas amomngst others with high corporation tax, windfall tax and the silly belief that a capitalist country could be run by the state alone. Maybe Labour lovers should look at their model closely.

  • why do they stand before speaker speaks?

  • @convener777 I'm wondering that too, and why only some people?

  • @convener777 @mike23984 - You stand to indicate that you wish to speak when the present speaker (in this case Cameron) has finished, it being up to the speaker to invite you to start, however they'd only have gotten a chance to speaker hear if Brown had decided not to reply, which he obviously wouldn't, so those standing either wanted to stretch their legs or don't really understand what's going on either. In a normal debate though standing asks the person speaking to give way.

  • @Faboba. thanks for the explanation

  • Why does David Cameron always avoids answering questions?! He makes a fool out of himself when he does that!

  • RABBLE RABBLE RABBLE RABBLE

  • Man, Congress is too formal. This is hilarious.

  • this is so much better than usa politics. we need more cheap shot politics here!

  • This kind of back and forth is eagerly needed in the indian parliament, where they speak and sit down, instead of real debate..

  • i bet the bankers love watching this cuz none of it matters anyway -.-

  • I don't know why the Conservative blog uploaded this, DC got owned. I think like most people, GB's fact and figures mean more to me than DC's awful rhetoric.

  • I like the combative nature of the commons. I think American politics would benefit from this rather than the staged presidential candidate debates they have every few years. Politicians in the commons have to think more on their feet.

  • your momma's so fat........

    waaaaaahheeeeeeeeyyy (these people in charge?)

  • Oh wow America needs a parliament!

  • Glad we don't have inheritance tax here in Canada- what an absurd idea.

  • Question though, were there any Lords present during this debate?

  • @MrPcosay They'd struggle to get into the House of Commons. Much better seats at their end of the palace.

  • "He's the first prime minister in History to flunk an election because he thought he was gonna win it" LMAO

  • Why stand some people up?

  • @RoberArran In parliamentary debate, if you want to be heard, you actually have to stand up and it is the discretion of the speaking person if he/she will recognize you. For most part, I love the UK Parliament. It shows who are actually doing their job and who has the guts to say it.

  • Comment removed

  • Shame that money grabbing bastard Cameron cant answer a simple question!

  • RABBLE RABBLE RABBLE RABBLE!

  • I'd love to be in that job. Being paid for making fun of everyone there. lol

  • @GentlemanThunder7 ALi g, did a good job, by making blow job and wankers sighns at them , lol.

  • @JADEGOODYSCORPSE You know something? I think Britain gets a lot done, doesn't it? Maybe THAT'S the key for American government. Instead of focusing so much on actual....work...just BS it all and make fun of the other party there.

  • I teach schoolboys who look mature compared with these morons.

  • Monster Raving Looney Party!

  • I completely agree!

  • It's so weird, the UK parliament seem to be a little more rowdy and out of order but it seems that they don't truly mean all the digs they give each other. Whereas in Canada, the House is much more controlled, but it seems as though all the MPs genuinly hate each other.

  • Cameron is awesome, people now just don't like him because of the amount of people he's proved wrong

  • @PBCrazyUK or because he's very tory.

  • @jinx1234567890 calm down dear :') such a tool :'D

  • @william555000 don't worry about me, i'm feeling fairly mellow. but i don't appreciate the derogatory names thank you very much.

  • I would rather have a David Cameron between our politiciens in Spain.

  • The goverment needs to stop arguing like little children - they decide what happens to our country and that affects each and every one of us, and they treat it like a game!

  • You know i dont really give a damn, and im pleased i never voted for any of them either. First thing out of Camerons mouth was the usual Labour have sunk this country an we...blah, blah,.Yes they can tell us well enough all whats wrong with the country, but you never see any of them fixing it.

  • Cameron is such a cunt. I'd just love to teabag his face.

  • both of them are diddies

  • I'm sorry, but david Cameron is SUCH a fucking god damn twat

  • That is like Jersey Shore. Everybody shouting!! xDD

  • IHT at 40% is wrong, I agree the more you earn the more you pay but when you die shouldnt be taxed at 40%, what about if my father was to suddenly die...so i would be taxed at 40%, so you are taxed on tax. I'd rather pass the value of the estate down the family or donate to charity not give it to the government to support asylums or illegal immigrants!

  • @Supersmooth007 Thats what brown basically said come the end "yes thats it when you die we will have your money from the dead!" That is so crude, sickening and unethical! Families who haves spent all their lives working so hard for so long should be allowed to passed their estate value down the family. FULL stop.

  • I wish i was a non dom so i won't pay any income tax for the rest of my life

  • Labour r wrong vote Tories!!!

  • @adammark1983 really bad... whole country is suffering with dick-cam virus... we need to get rid off them...u know what's happening in the country ? i never saw london burning like this in my entire life.

  • What I can say is thank god we are not in the Euro - In France 1 ion 4 are unemployed, Greece is Bankrupt and if we were in the Euro we could have been asked to bailout the country!!! Another thing is these I.D cards, what a pointless thing by the labour government, drivers licence is an ID for gods sake...what a waste of government money. - That tax money could have gone towards our troops to be better equiped in Afghanistan. Oh and to buy cheap gold call up Gordon Brown on 0800 CLUE LESS!!

  • Gordon brown kept borrowing and made no plans to cut the deficit to keep power its simple, now there is the coalition - they are citicising everything!

  • I wish that we had something like this in America, ironic that the stuffed shirt British have the more lively debate, and the crass Americans will put you to sleep...

  • @agbmoe Our newsmedia is bad enough with demagogues like Glenn Beck. Believe me, American politics is just a brutal in it's own way.

  • looooooooooooooooooooooooooool they may as well start doing yo momma jokes

  • Come back Gordon!

  • @TomTresh3 no thnaks

  • @TomTresh3 hello no bigot, can't even make a plan to tackle our debt and has no plan of action!

  • @Supersmooth007 Yes he did. read the manifestio pal!

Oh and what's the alternative? Back to the days of Thatcher - record unemployment, millions of families losing their homes, and recessions as often as elections. No thanks!

  • @TomTresh3 Giordon brown never put a levy on the banks, and they were not regulated. Banks were in crisis and lending to businesses that were going bankrupt and could not afford to pay back. The Labour government was spending and borrowing. We have been living too good for too long. It is like when you spend all your visa card and can't pay it back costs you interest - well here is another visa card to spend more....that was Labours attitude. I am glad we are not like Greece almost bankrupt.

  • @Supersmooth007 Some tax payers money goes to illegal immigrants and asylum seekers that get grants of £25,k to live in this country and free housing benefits, when that money could have gone towards more our own people...no wonder a few years ago we had a mass migration of immigrants.

  • @Supersmooth007 Its costing us £120m in debt interest per day!! Fucking labour government did nothing to tackle our debt. Now spending in the public sector will decrease the NHS budget will increase!" GDP has risen 0.8% in 3 months and some 137,000 jobs have been created in private sector! At least you cannot accuse David Cameron of inconsistancy, he said he will cut the deficit and where, the labour government did nothing at all, they had no plan. It is simple why spend money you don't have?!

  • @TomTresh3 We had record youth unemployment in end of April begining of May before the hung parliament and when the stock markets were down and during Brown days!!! thats Labour for you....you voted them!

  • @Supersmooth007 No, we had the biggest ever unemployment under Thatcher in the mid-80s, that's fact! Yeah, I voted Labour, am I will do in the next election as well!

  • @TomTresh3 Good for you. Ed Milliband can't even agree with Alan Johnson on the Graduated tax on university fees v the 50p tax rate with one minister wanting to abolish it and the other to keep. I mean thats the labour party for you and it is in shambles really with no coherent policy agreement - a bit like Blair and Brown years! So no surprises. David Milliband said it was the right decision to go to war, when ED said it was the wrong decision. Ed Milliband will be voted out soon thts for sure!

  • @Supersmooth007 Sorry pal, but this is the Labour party. Unlike the tories, we vote leaders in who actually make elections! Ed Milliband will be the next PM and will easily win the next 2 general elections!

  • @TomTresh3 like all labor idiots , you live in fantasy land

  • @TomTresh3 Labour are pathetic idiots who want to tax the rich for benfits right, left & centre. Labour are scum.

  • @william555000 Lets be honest Conservative are not the most popular during the local elections. But David Cameron has a tough job sorting the country so I do understand your opinion

  • @william555000 hahahahahahah you're such an idiot. it's people like you that are holding this country back.

  • @william555000 I agree with taxing the rich... but think unless you're looking for work you shouldn't be given a penny. If you don't find work after two months, you're on your own!!! Also, no child benefits if you have more than two kids. Simple!!!

  • @TomTresh3 well said,he made a mistake but people dont give him a second chance.

  • lol, its like a school yeard slag off contests lol

  • i <3 david cameron. legend. owns him every time . the only one who can sort this country out. love him to bits :) xxx xxx xxx xxx xxx xxx xxx

  • @mariafreddiebeccamur what you actually love him as in boy girl thing?!?!?!?!

  • I h8 polotics. everyone takes it to frickin seriously. its really pathetic

  • Hahahahaaa Cameron is such a legend!

  • @st3fanunited Hahaha, Cameron is such a legend, being the leader of a party which opposed public education, the NHS and wants to raise the pension age. You right he is a legend for all those billionares who due his industry tax cuts get millions more, whilst the working and middle classes have to cover those cuts with an increased VAT.

  • David Cameron = posh twat.

  • i hate you Cameron

  • cameron is such a douche

  • fuck david cameron

  • fuck david cameron

  • ahahahahaha Gordon is a twat

  • @XxGameZonexX Why is that? Seriously, the media have ciritised him although he hasn't done anything particularly wrong. Seriously, tell me why you dislike for a legitimate reason. Most people who do are idiots who mindlessly follow what the media says, and are ultimatly, how conservative politicians get power, because they don't realise what they stand for. In the past they have hindered social reforms such as public education, and today they degrade the quality of it and other public services.

  • this is better than watching two and a half men

  • lmao look at the leaders of this country squabbling like little kids, a game of one-upmanship is not going to encourage voters! it's little wonder to me why the turnout for votes is so low when these apparent leaders of the free world (and their critics) come off as high school debating societies wanting to embarres each other so badly that they forget why they are having the argument! you are meant to be inspiring in your public you preadolescent twats

  • love pmq's
