@FisherManStan88 If you go to the Alberta Fishing Regulations website and look under Alberta's Fish Stocking Program, you'll see that Beaver Mines is there under ES1, which also says that you can keep 5 trout/person and use bait, except bait fish. :)
which lake are you talki about? the only lake you can see from the highway is at frank slide - Frank Lake. kind of a hidden gem actually. Beaver mines is closer to castle mountain ski hill
@guitarplayingcat the one im talking about is just passed the bc alberta border near the crowsnest pass. i heard there are gerrard rainbows around ten pounds in it so i was wondering if u knew anything of it
Oh, I know which you are talking about. This is the lake where you can have either B.C. license or Alberta license to fish it. Looks like the fishing is pretty damn good. Gerrard rainbows are fiesty... I was living in nelson last year, and people were pulling out 25-30lb bows it was unbelievable. What did you use for bait? shrimp?
@guitarplayingcat ya man i live in creston its only an hour or so from nelson. i love that lake my dad got one 22 pounds but my biggest is 18 so far caught it in october. will be hard at it all winter looking for my first 20
nice, Creston is pretty sweet. You go to duck lake a lot? Bass fishin? =) Good luck with your 20 man. I hope you catch it. P.S. Im jealous. I wish i still lived in Nelson.
@guitarplayingcat ya i love it. haha ya i love fishing duck lake in august top water, and through the ice haha i just spent a week on the ice but it was pretty slow compared to the last few years but we still got a few around 3 pounds.
man I know plenty of good spots. The trout fishing there is awesome. The Columbia river is unbelievable. I've had luck catchin trout at a few spots inbetween Castlegar and trail, just side stops along the highway. Also, inbetween nelson and castlegar if you take the road south towards the ferry across from the gas station, the island has good fishing. off the boat first left follow it all the way down til you see the beach, past that and hit up the rapids. Incredible fly fishing.. mssg me 4 more
Also, there a bridge right in the middle.. man I forgot all the names of the places around there lol I dont know how so sorry for that, but at this bridge there is a parking lot with a small community, steps going down to a beach, but if you go to the opposite side there is a small path that i never noticed for like 3 months lol but down there ive caught some nice rainbows too. Also, Its basically a nude beach. Kinda funny.
