  • Fantastic video!! Definitely giving this a try, thanks! Are you from Finsbury Park?

  • @LiamoMacDeadly

I hope it all goes and no I am not from Finsbury Park.

    Nearer to Heathrow.

  • this is almost similar like "patatas a la riojana", a Spanish dish.. ^^

  • @williamtj21

    You are quite correct :)

    Well observed!

    OriginalNakedChef

  • You should definitely do another soup recipe soon! It's getting so cold!

  • @Karl6478

    Good idea!

I will defiantly be doing another soup :)

    OriginalNakedChef

  • (cont) Lived in Spain so fully "get" the release of the juices and paprika notion, though never tried this way.

Marvelous, just three ingriedients. I also wanted to see you :) liked the user friendly soft Britsh tone. Thanks, will try. Though the 'Giant' supermarket half UK owned usually has the dry one you set aside. Maybe Trader Joe's. This btw is the only recipe of yours I saw. Can't go thru all! ;)

  • @1point5z

    Nice to hear from :)

You are quite right; the simple ingredients I used are a good basis for a tasty stew. I am sure your suggested extras would make a lovely stew.

I have noticed that most of the supermarkets do now stock the chorizo that needs to be cooked (the one I used in this recipe) as well as the drier version that I did not use.

Thanks for your tips and feedback also if you do get time, go through some more of my recipes as they are quite tasty :)

    OriginalNakedChef

  • Heartily agree w/ you about the Bay Leaf. Just one changes and makes a simple stew (the beef, carrot, potato, turnip one). So 3, I see your point. Water indeed would do it. Love your simple sane approach. I'm in MD, US so I suppose the potatoes that would break up in 30/40 would be Idaho. I mmediately wanted incidentally, to Wiki the potato name you used.

  • may i ask why you say chorifo

  • @thesumulationhypo

I try and pronounce Chorizo like this --> chore-reeth-oh

I hear many different pronunciations for Chorizo and the way I pronounce it is the way I have been taught.

    OriginalNakedChef

  • @OriginalNakedChef

umm thats not how it pronouced trust me im mexican

  • @thesumulationhypo

I here alot of people in Spain pronouncing it that way!

Never been to Mexico so I cant really comment!

    OriginalNakedChef

  • I hate the way he say "GONNA BE COOKIN UP" at the start of evry one of his videos. And its CHORIZO NOT CHORIFO u fuckin bell end

  • potatoes and some chrizo put in a pot are u kidding me it actually took you over 8 mins to show us how to do something a 12 yr old could make. first video of urs i have watched and u have turned me right off and bored the ass of me , 8 mins to do that i can not believe i watched it that long

  • I made this tonight and it was out of this world. Thanks again honey bunny

  • @Missyplaymate3

Really pleased you made the dish and enjoyed!

That Chorizo is amazing stuff :)

Always nice to hear from you OriginalNakedChef

  • could you leave potatoe skins on ?

  • @chriser555

Thats your choice, I would personally peel the potatoes. Maybe if you decide to try the recipe you could have half the potatoes peeled and half with the skins on.

Let me know what you thinks works best for you.

    OriginalNakedChef :)

  • Can you list the ingredients in the description? It makes it easy to see what I need to add to my shopping list :)

  • @colleenhilton

    The ingridients are as follows:

    1.Potatoes (I used maris piper 1.5 KG)

    2. Chorizo (says needs to be cooked on packet)

    3. bay leaves x 3

    4. water and salt.

    All the best OriginalNakedChef

  • Another interesting recipe. Good one, ONC!

  • @Barnekkid

    Nice one!

Good to hear from you :)

    OriginalNakedChef

  • is it possible to show your face in your next video. i know a lot of people that want to know what you look like! haha

  • @MCFCJONEHAR

Maybe not my next video but one day in the future I will revael myself :)

    OriginalNakedChef

  • what is chore-ree-tho? do you mean chore-ree-zo

  • @TheJethrotull32

Thank you for brushing me up on my pronunciation. That’s my Spanglish :)

    OriginalNakedChef

  • @TheJethrotull32 That's correct spanish pronounciation. The other is american :) They bastardise every known pronounciation out there. Don't even get me started on how the yanks say Oregano and Basil.

  • cooked this today for my family, they loved it! keep up the good work!

  • @MCFCJONEHAR

Nice job and well done chef!

I am glad they liked it. It's always nice to receive the feedback and hopefully |I can come up with some more tasty dishes for you :

    OriginalNakedChef

  • i need to start using chorizo. you use it so much so it must be good. this soup would be perfect for winter. how chorizo typically mild in taste and heat? thanks again.

  • @kumquatsta

Nice to hear from you, and you must try the chorizo. I do use chorizo quite alot as it really does have a nice meaty delicious flavour. I have just recently used the cured chorizo in a paella. I decided to make a chicken with chorizo paella. It was very nice. I now just need to find the time to edit that vid so it may be a couple of weeks or so before I can release it.

Thanks for popping in again and always nice to hear from you.

    OriginalnakedChef

  • mmmm

    I like it

Dip that fresh bread in the juices and enjoy!

  • @eggnogonthebog

Your making me hungry just thinking about that :)

    OriginalNakedChef

  • When you were cutting the sausages i couldn't help but cringe after slicing my finger today cutting tomatoes ><

  • @Reublol

    That sounds really painful :)

I can imagen your face when you are watching me slice those fingers sorry I ment chorizo sausages :)

I hope it gets better soon and be careful

    OriginalnakedChef

  • Just cooked this one for dinner. Nice and tasty.

The sausages were the 'needs to be cooked' ones, 250g, but I guessed at the amount of potatoes and water and used 800g + 750 ml which made enough soup for ca 3 people.

    How much did you use?

Also, do you think the recipe would work with the cheaper, already cooked chorizo?

    Thanks for sharing.

  • @blutey I quite often guess the amount of potatoes and water in my dishes, so I can't really answer that exactly. The main thing is not too much water so it’s all watery but equally you do want some juices at the end. It sounds to me like you got it about right.

It would work with the other chorizo that is cured or smoked but I find the uncooked version to work better with this dish

I have made another video recipe with lentils using the cheeper cured chorizo and that was very nice.

  • Just curious, have you ever tried it with a little mushroom and/or green pepper added near the end of cooking. I think it would work if you like em. Kinda like the Hungarian Goulash soup which is also superb with crusty bread and a glass of robust red wine.

  • @westislandkev

I am looking forward to making this dish again. I am going to gather all the suggestions that everyones made including yours and see if I can come up with something special. Most of the time I have made this dish I have always kept it simple. I like the suggestions and may try them out. If you decide to put your own stamp on it, let me know how it turns out and what ingridients you used :)

    OriginalNakedChef

  • Nice dish, it's a wonderful example of simple recipe and delicious comfort food. I bet this would work with different types of sausage, like spicy Italian. Would be lovely with some crusty baguette with fresh salted butter! Thx for the vid.

  • @westislandkev

Some viewers do find it difficult to source chorizo.

I like your idea of Italian spicy sausage. If you have any specific ones that you think would work well, please let me/us know and of course try it out myself :)

I totally agree with you, this is nice comfort food.

Thanks as always for your helpful tips! OriginalnakedChef

  • I might try it today :)

  • @Maroke21

    Nice one!

If you do decide to try it, I hope you enjoy!

Get a nice piece of bread to soak up the juices :)

    OriginalNakedChef

  • Looks good. I love chorizo sausage also. I have all the required ingredients for this recipe, so I might try it.

What do you think of the idea of roast potatoes, various other roast vegetables and chorizo? Just the thought of it makes has me salivating! :)

  • @JimmyMacJones

It sounds like you have made up your mind already. I am sure you are going to be making it soon :)

I think that chorizo is delicious and is great for adding a meaty flavour. If you do decide to try your creation, please let me know how it tastes :)

Have you ever tried chorizo on the bbq? Its' really yum!

    All the best OriginalNakedChef

  • great video as usual

  • @BirmzWeedhead

Thanks alot and appreciate you dropping in.

    OriginalNakedChef :)

  • Looks good! I was wondering though, would you recommend experimenting on expanding the recipe, by adding for example some leek, or onion, maybe carrot, perhaps celery root or some diced rutabaga, or several of the above, to flesh it out a little? Then again that might mask the chorizo flavours, and I wouldn't want to do that. Also part of the charm of this dish is it's wonderful simplicity.

    Thanks for sharing!

  • @Lleanlleawrg

The thing I like about this recipe is how simple but flavoursome it is. However I encourage people to experiment and make the recipe there own. My suggestion is to first try the recipe as is. Then next time add some extras that you think you would enjoy. Onion garlic and leek would be nice as a base. The reat is up to you. Let me know how you get on :)

    OriginalNakedChef

Let me know how you get on OriginalNakedChef

  • @Lleanlleawrg

One of my subscribers suggested the following and it sounds good to me. :)) Fry some chopped onion and garlic with a few bay leaves and chorizo until it all has a nice colour(3 to 5 mins) The add potatoes and water. Cook until potatoes are soft. Just before you serve add some extra virgin olive oil on top.

    OriginalNakedChef

  • @Lleanlleawrg

Just to let you know, I have another video recipe on youtube that was similar to your suggestion and includes lentils.

Have alook at that recipe of mine, it's similar to what you were suggesting but also includes lentils.

It's called "Stew Lentils Chorizo Potatoes"

    OriginalNakedChef

  • @OriginalNakedChef Nice, I just finished watching the other video. I definetely like the idea with the lentils. I think I'll try the basic one in this video one day, and if I like the principle I may try building more onto it to see how that grabs me. It really seems like an excellent platform for expansion into multiple directions, but seems to work great on it's own as well, which I'm a big fan of. Thanks for the tips and the feedback and all. I really enjoy your videos and the recipes in them

  • That looks worth a try. Just got to try and source those sausages lol

PS the family enjoyed your lemon chicken recipe the other day!

  • @blutey

Thats nice to know that your family enjoyed the lemon chicken recipe. It's good to have recipes that the whle family enjoys :)

    OriginalNakedChef

  • Looks so good hmmmm yummy

  • @Missyplaymate3

Nice to hear from you as always :)

    OriginalNakedChef

  • That looks Bomb!!!

  • @russian007royal

    Nice one!

    Thanks for dropping in OriginalNakedChef

  • Looks delicious mate! I've never had chorizo but seeing this makes me want to give it a try. Will have to be tomorrow though as it's buy one get one free at Dominos today =) I'll leave a comment tomorrow to tell you how it went mate!

  • @Flame18

I know what you mean with the pizza quick easy and quite tasty.

Am I right, didn't Dominos do a pizza recently with chorizo?

Nice to hear from you and enjoy your pizzas :)

    OriginalNakedChef

  • @OriginalNakedChef I think they did, but it was with various other toppings and a difference sauce for the base. Will be making this dish today, need to go to Tesco's for the Chorizo though :P

  • @Flame18

I hope it all goes well and taste good for you.

Thanks for all you support over the time OriginalnakeedChef :)

  • @OriginalNakedChef It was delicious mate, definitely one to keep in the books!

  • It's really good! but if I can't find Chorizo sausages, what are things that could instead than Chorizo? Thank!

  • @ibomin I have found some possible alternatives similar to chorizo. The problem is if you find chorizo hard to find, you may have the same problem with these. 1. (Longaniza Philippines version of chorizo) 2.(chouriço Portuguese) 3.(linguisa Portuguese) 4.(Mexican chorizo). Also one of my subscribers made a good suggestion for a spicy Italian sausage. You may have to look around to see what is available where you are. Hopefully you find something suitable and enjoy the meal

    OriginalNakedChef

  • @ibomin

Glad you lied it. I know when I first made it I though so good and so simple.

    Thanks for the feedback :)
