as a home-school mom, it is obvious how kids do so much better when they are with kids of different ages. Also, hands on learning works much better than book learning. Both are helpful though. Children are able to spend more time in their high interest areas and they don't get bored and frustrated with schooling so easily.

Working on my grandfathers farm was like that he was Amish and completely opposed to english school. My Mother divorced his son and sent me to school in Scotland, but I learned so fast on the farm, and was so bored in school. They made me go to US public school when I came back, and my mind crawled. This makes sense.
