nobody invented black metal.. someone gave it a name, someone sound, maybe lyrics, but it seems to me that nobody WANTS to INVENT black metal. it happened. so stop talking about not important things and listen..
@Zodist Bathory invented Black Metal? Are you stupid? It was VENOM that invented Black Metal not Bathory! Bathory only helped to form the way the 90's Black Metal sounded alongside with Celtic Frost & Mayhem.

@Zodist Eh no it was Venom who invented the whole scene, Lyrical conept, album covers, the type of riffs that was used. And no Bathory's 2 first albums were not Black/Death they were Black/Thrash, most of the early BM bands had Thrash in their music as well.

When I think of classic black metal, this is my immediate response, it's sad to see that Marduk doesn't get as much respect as some of the other bands for the "old-school" era, oh well, I will always bring Marduk up in a conversation about good old-school BM bands that is for sure.
Wow this is really good; The only Marduk album I'd ever heard was World Funeral and it sort of left a bad taste in my mouth. This older stuff is way more black!
