Holy shit. Not only are there too many fish, that's a terrible mix of fish species. Do some research before you get a freshwater or saltwater. Not fair to the livestock.
lets test your knoledge visit my channel for the awnsers and questions 1) how big of a tank do comet goldfish need (per fish) A they only need a bowl (1gallon) B 20 gallons C 5 gallons 2) what fish go together well A south american ciclids with african ciclids B ciclids with anglefish C goldfish with carp 3) whats the best filter A you dont need a filter B aqueon power filter C fuval canister for more questions and awnsers go to my channel PS this person cant take care of fish
Its not the warmth of the tank that's going 2 hurt those goldfish it the ammonia that the goldfish make that will hurt ur angelfish and silver dollars
Anyone willing to keep fish in such terrible conditions shouldn't have them. In my opinion there should be restrictions on who can keep animals as pets.
@DESERVANT WOW! i thought i was the only one that felt that way. awesome! i used to manage a pet shop and 99% of people buy pets to appease other people knowing full well they care nothing for it's well being. :( should have to have a liscence! X)
@snotbog1 no he's right you SHOULD NOT put goldfish with tropical fish because they produce a ton of ammonia... and the pacu needs a wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy bigger tank no matter what size you have unless its like 400 gallons which by the looks of it doesnt seem to be
I had fish before you were walking this planet. At one time, I had 5 aquariums, the largest being a 100 gallon tank. How much experience do you have?
Because I've broken rules does not necessitate my not having "experience". Most of the fish seen in that 1998 clip are still alive and well, including the neons.
Just because you have time and Long living fish. Does not constitute experience. From your stocking list it is clear than many are in the wrong numbers for groups, a swell as many species being in you water despite a few requiring much different water for example the Melanotaenia praecox requires much lower temps than your Kuhli Loach. A supposing you this tank is in fact your 100g the Royal plec would need a larger tank. Not saying its not horrible, just not practical.
@snotbog1 I also have been keeping fish in multiple tanks for 8 yrs. I am extremely knowledgeable in tropical fish, and Have been keeping discus for a few years with great success. And as of right now I have 4 tanks set up all with different parameters, the largest is 90 gallons
I'm fully aware that these fish have different requirements. I did this as an experiment. For the most part, it's working out just fine.
I don't flip things up-side-down like many fish lovers do. The fish are there for me. Not vice versa. They're fish. I feed em' and keep the tank nice an' purdy. They're doing just fine.
do u think i have a unique tank- 1 Silver Hatchet fish, 1 Dragon Eel, 1 assorted veil angelfish, 1 unknown angelfish, 1 unknown Leaf fish, 1 pearl gourami,1 striped raphael catfish, 1 Red Zebra Danio, 2 Zebra Danios, 1 leopard veiltail danio. I have 2 painted glass fish now i know not to get them again.
Yeah I was planning too. Unfortonetly my unknown angelfish, unknown leaf fish, and painted glass fish all have died. I am getting more fish. Some of them include Sterba's Cory and Royal Bumblebee Goby's. Mayba a few more. I will have a clip in a few weeks when I have the max for fish.
I agree on the goldfish and have removed them. Not true about angelfish. They do fine in a community aquarium.
Yes, the tank is overcrowded which has mainly to do with the extreme low mortality rate. (I've lost one tiny fish in almost a year.) I have not purchased any fish since I set up this tank in 07. The fish are extremely large now and very healthy. Most sizes are past what books list as max growth and their colors are extremely good as well. Check out some of my recent vids.
Really nice! I thought too that it looked a bit overcrowded and haha I know how tempting it is just to add one more fish to our collection! Another one... and.. overcrowded lol.
You're right on the overcrowded thing. I bought all these fish in the first couple of months of the tank set-up ack in Dec '07 and have not purchased any since. I still have a crowded tank!!!
Yes unique for sure also overcrowded, although they all look happy i would still think about either moving some of the fish to another residence or getting a bigger tank to house them ;)
Thats a good idea. Those poor fancies are looking a bit roughed up. I thought your tank was a bit overcrowded too, but i know how easily that can happen... fish dont stay small for long! I like the overall looks of the tank and the fish. Its not too cluttered and the fish seem happy to have alot of swimming space. Im glad you moved the coldwater fish. Too many people mix them with tropicals and its usually with disasterous results.
For the most part, yes. We've lost of few small fish but most are still alive as well as all of our larger fish. The only casualties have been the gobies (4 left) and a couple of hillstream loaches. All the other small fish are doing great. I'd say there's still about a half dozen ghost shrimp left. One of my 5 plecos died. He started eating from the top so maybe that had something to do with it. I'd say about 90% of the fish I started with a year ago when I set up the tank are alive and well.
unique meaning, no one else does this!

Yeah, maybe we should have government animal police. I'll bet you probably are an "animal rights" supporter, right?
I imagine my fish, (most all of which from this video are presently alive and healthy), have outlived the vast majority of fish on Youtube.

85 and yes, overcrowded.
But 'em tiny and they just kept growing. Figure more would die off as they grew but the mortality rate has been minimal. Hence the overcrowding.
